I can't reach mine after 5pm, either. After 5pm on a Friday, it's just me and the hospital. My therapist is always available in an emergency, but still....

i get angry to they do play games but they do i think have a code they go by the book but for exa everyone on her could rewrite the book cause thier not even dealing with these problems personaly but i try to stay positive im sorry if im not helping

I think it has to do with the state you live in and by that I mean state of the union. I lived in Fl and was what they called "Baker Acted" by the police several times where anyone can just force you to stay in the hospital for as long as 2-3 weeks. The last time that happened to me the cops drug me to the assylum when I was trying to tell them about a crime I saw. I was there for like a week and a half, just sitting there eating icecream and flirting with the nurses. They made someone sit in the hospital room with me around the clock so as to make sure I didn't try to leave. I thought the whole thing was a little messed up but maybe it did me some good.

I can remember years where I was trying doctor after doctor, just trying to be heard. It wasn't until I was finally put into a psychiatric hospital that someone finally paid some attention to me. My outpatient orders were to be seen by a psychiatrist and a counselor. But even then, I had to go another year or so until we found the right combination of meds for me. Also, have you ever called the Suicide Hotline...and nobody answered?! Yep, it happened to me during those years.

i called the local ward and told them i was sucidel it was a answering machine..when i get stable im making a GRAEAT BIG DEAL OVER THIS...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i am very lucky. when i call the my pdoc after hours i get the answering service and get one of the pdocs on call and they help me. sometimes the tell me to adjust the meds or up my ativan or tell me to go to the ER, but there is always someone to help.

Having been an ER nurse for 17 years, and worked in several different states, the emergency department will typically NOT admit without you having suicidal ideation WITH a plan, attempted to harm yourself, have thoughts of hurting someone else WITH a plan, or currently psychotic. You have to be in immediate danger or someone else. I personally go straight to the psych hospital when I am in crisis, and they have an assessor there. They admitted me that night after evaluation. They will only send you to the ER if they suspect you have OD, or have other medical issues that need clearance prior to admission to the psych hospital

Unfortunately the hospitals around here are always full up so getting sent home happens alot. When I have to go in, I have to take someone with me to speak up for me. Usually my hubby has to tell them, 'No, she need to be admitted, I can not take her home like this".....
One time, when I went alone, they actually tried to convince me that I was NOT suicidal. Can you freakin believe that??

seems like you should kinda "Demand" that hey keep you. You have to tell them that you are going to kill yourself if you go home. They have to keep you. Dont give up

shit i told ER doc i was suicidal..they called cops....took me to mental hospital....all states must be diffrent

I'm confused, why didnt you go to the psych hospital instead of the ER if you wanted to be admitted? Is it different in your city? Ours are seperate Hospitals and probably why they can get ahold of my pdoc at any time.......As far as I know, ER doesnt admit but may prescribe anxiety meds. Sorry you are struggling Princess but there are too many questions not to be suspicious of your intentions after everything you have told us in the past. Hugs
