Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Don't beat yourself! Count instead the ways you've been good today, this week. The number of days you've worked out, the times you've chosen fruits over chips, etc. It's the cumulative effect of good choices that lead you to a healthy lifestyle and healthy weight, not a single bite of steak.
You're doing good! keep going!
Love, Jolynn
Here are a few tips from a cereal dieter (yes I dieted at least twice a year),
1. The best diet I found was the "South Beach Diet" It is a little hard for the first few weeks, but once you get used to it, it is a great lifestyle.
2. It is not about dieting, it is about changing your lifestyle. Our eating habits are established when we are young, they are in fact habits. It takes time to change them. give yourself a break.
3. Denying yourself will only lead to a huge crash later. Eating three healthy meals a day is great, but you can not give up all of the "bad" foods out there. Sometimes it is O.K. to have a chocolate bar or a piece of cake.
4. Go ahead and treat yourself once a week, there is nothing wrong with it. It is fine to reward your self for going to the gym and working out all week long.
Be kind to yourself, you are doing a great job.
