It's like you've been blindsided by a car accident or something- it is going to take time to get to grips; especially given your depression. In a way the depression can be as all consuming as the mania, y'know...fuck with your judgement- convince you it's hopeless and will never end etc
Keep your doctor informed how much you are struggling, for one thing.

I can't tell you for sure what helps in concert with medication. The last time this happened to me I started taking fish oil supplements, vitamin D & B & Magnesium (good for stressed out peeps) & a supplement called N-acetyl-cysteine- all have some backing as being of use to people with bipolar & I figure it doesn't hurt.
be kind to you & have hope x
Its not! I had to go to three different pdoc's (psychiatrist) till I found one that kept, trying different meds till we found one I function on!
So finally the meds have me hopeful and stable, but I'm so USED to sitting, beating myself up - I need to heal, and re-create a life. I'm not going to stay down, and out. I will fight this, and KNOW - someone is here to remind me it gets better - and the it is ME!
Keep venting here, keep asking for help and med changes till you find some relief, some idea that the pain, suffering and depression to LIFT....
((((BIG HUG))))) I was where you were at, a LONG time - and I'm not now!!!! Let me hand you hope : )
One pdoc over medicated me, 7 high dosage pills - not good..
I am on three now, one in the morning, two at bedtime - I treat them like vitamins, nothing special - Vitamin E, C etc - why not some modern chemistry : ) I'm grateful they are getting smarter and better - all good for me!
