Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I would like to lose 40 lbs. okay, I would settle for 20 lbs but 40 would be amazing. My weight gain is from seroquel, but I’ve never been able to switch to something more weight-neutral successfully.
Fluoxetine (anti depressant) which both really increase the appetite and help pack on the lbs.
I wish I lived in a city like you Nikki! The walks must be great!
I do have a nice park nearby - I guess the reminder about
all this is that it won't be a passive thing to get the weight off!
Let's support each other's goals!
I will cheer you on Markus!
Who else wants to encourage one another?
I need to lose a ton of Seroquel weight... The only thing I've been able to come up with is to staple my lips together...
Good idea!!
I'm not much to be involved because I don't eat food, its just not something I like and generally drink protein shakes and eat the same 3 things everyday.
But I'll be glad to help out if you want. I like the organization stuff. You could post it here or people could message me. Or any other suggestions....

Just a thought. I literally weight a salad I was going to eat. Then weighed me. Then ate the salad and weight myself and weighed the exact amount of the 2. Its the most accurate scale i've ever had.
And I need that because my Dr.'s scale is always different than my home scale was. But not now. It pretty close except for the clothes I have on, but I just whip out my phone and show my Dr. what I weighed that morning fresh out of the shower and that's what she puts in my chart.
Just and FYI.
You might want to create a thread here and we just all keep adding to it. I suggest that because my experience on DS and almost everywhere is that seperate small groups tend to die out. They start well but unless you are constantly advertising them in the main group then you get no new members and naturally you will lose a few existing members so the group becomes quieter and quieter.
The downside of a thread like that is that everyone can see it, not an issue for me but I don't know how other members feel about it.
I guess salt and vinegar chips will have to go!!!
High Protein and High Fiber foods fill you up faster and they provide the fuel you need to burn the calories.
The nighttime hunger after I’ve gotten in bed is the strangest thing from meds! I take a few bites of cottage cheese.
Lately I’ve been focused on portion control and I try to do a thirty minute workout every other day and walk heavily on weekends.
Btw, since I refrained from the chocolate ice cream the other night I am going to have just a teeny tiny bit tonight then do some stretching and toning in an hour.
