My daughter has missed 22 days of school. The school told me today that any time after 10 abscences with notes they can fine me for not making my daughter go to school. She's been sick with constipation and it hasn't cleared up but is so sensative to any laxative prescribed that she gets the diahrrea instantly upon taking it. I called the nurse on making decissions for me today. She called last afternoon and demanded that someone pick up my daughter because she said she didn't want to see her in pain with a headache and stomach ache due to constipation. Well my daughter told me flat out that she hates school because her teacher is mean. And my daughter uses every excuse to get out of school if possible. I basically She really loves school but she only hates her teacher. I told the nurse that she hates going because she hates her teacher because she thinks that the teacher is too mean. I flat out told the nurse to stop living my life for me and making decissions that weren't hers to make and was a bitch and told her if my daughter wasn't ill with a fever and throwing up that she is to send her back to class on my orders not because she thinks she deserves to come home. I only did this because I don't want to have to pay a fine for being taken to court by the school because she's been missing too many days. The teacher is concerned that she is so far behind and doesn't allow my child any recess because she refuses to take her school work home with her and do it at home.
Did I do the right thing by being a bitch to the nurse and put her in her place?
I told my friend what I did and she bitched me out.
I know if I didn't act as a parent should and put the nurse in her place
then she would just decide on her own when my daughter is sick instead of letting me have the decission. I am a parent Where the hell
are my rights? I feel guilty only because my friend bitched me out and told me that being an asshole to professionals is a good way to make
enemies. I felt I was in the right. I don't need a fine I can't pay.

Didn't read thru all the replies, so if this has already been mentioned... disregard. Have you tried Miralax? My six-year-old has chronic constipation, was hospitalized for it a couple of years ago. His intestine became paralyzed and shut down completely. I give him Miralax twice a week and we have no more problems. It is a tasteless powder that you mix with juice or whatever. It works gradually, so no surprises...... You can't taste it at all....... It is a little pricey, but well worth it for us......... Good luck!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
