I have come to the conclusion that men are generally speaking (excluding my friends and fellow beepers here of course) are complete wankers and idiots!

am still enjoying my holiday buzz. did spaghetti bolognese yesterday and for more foreign tastes excitements made a french soup with red wine this evening which was delicious. brought some with me here for dinner if anyone would like some. also have a beautiful chilean cabernet sauvignon that is to die for served at a little above room temperature. oh my.we have to have a bottle each.

i am now going to try to put my photos on here. with the disclaimer that i am not a professional photographer and i just wanted to share my experience and this is the first time in my life i ever took video footage and i have already had it up to my neck from wolfgang on how dreadful they all are. i told him i wasn't entering any competitions, i just wanted to share the beauty that is saw.i hope you guys can find some pleasure in them!! i had a ball taking them!!

It's Sunday morning and c I'm having trouble getting started...

Brought the big pot of coffee and tea by...I think I'll lay on the couch for a while... I'm tired!

I'll just sit here and drink gallons of coffee.
I have to go to work in a few hours. I'm very nervous about it. It's snowing like crazy and won't stop till Monday morning. This doesn't look good.

I made it! Only took twice as long to get home. Scary...a lot of white out conditions...but I'm here. So tomorrow will be a SNOW DAY!!!

good idea dobie for the soup and i visited my pdoc this evening on my way home and we polished off a french white and a chilean red and when i left he gave me a german white, a portugese red and a french red to bring home. so which one will we open?? I think I have decided to phase out seeing him as my pdoc and just stick to our wonderful friendship. we had a lovely evening, great conversation and i brought the chilean red some of the french hot pepper soup that i made last night with me. he is now 78yrs old, his wife died about four months ago and he has had two knee replacements and a hip replacement and I think it is past time that he retired but obviously cant say that to him so i think i'll just keep it on a friendly basis from now on and try not to hurt his feelings!!!

i think he is getting a little forgetful too so i don't want to put any extra strain on him.

Soup and wine what could be better?

Irish you sound lucky to have a pdoc like that. Mine is getting up in years too...I constantly worry about it...

Seems like the days when the pdoc actually knew your name and something about you have gone by the wayside....

Hi May -- Hello to anyone else around or lurking!!

We got about 4" of snow last night! Figures it would happen on a day where I had to walk out about a 1/2 mile. Don't like venturing out in the snow unless it's for fun AND definitely NOT in the car. So, I take it back, I'm glad to be walking!

hey spacekat, how are you. we have had no snow here yet and i'm glad of it as i too hate driving in it! we have non stop rain though for a long time now but hey anything is better than ice!!

Am enjoying my first time on my own for what seems like forever and it is heaven...having numerous cups of rooibos tea and fresh cherries in my lovely warm house. what are you up to?

I'm off to help shovel! Whoo-hoo!! Then, I'll give my back a break and take a nap, perhaps. It's not terribly cold which is nice, just snowy!

Pounding rain here in sunny California....we don't complain about it, glad for it after such a long drought....maybe this is the year we return to normal!
