the people i work with know im bipolar. i work with children i figure in case i have a mood swing they know why. tehy have no problem with me being bp as long as im stabel

The only reason I had to give up my job as a hospice RN was I got put on a med that made my hands shake so couldn't draw blood or take blood pressures anymore. Work knew I was BP and everyone was very sorry that I had to leave and told me a job would be waiting for me as soon as I get off the med, which I can't do right now.

thats great. i worked with children told them andd soon after had the principal saying that "i wasnt doing my job correctly" hmm i wonder...

I told HR and my direct boss because I work with machinery. I gave them a list of all my meds so if I got hurt they would know what to give me etc. I have noticed that some people dont know how to deal with me. Like Im about to pull a bazooka out of my lunch box at any moment.

I am a bar attendant, I feel that the people i work with don't really have to know anything about me. With bar work staff turn over is very quick so i don't expect to get close to anyone there. But how do i tell people i'm not close to that i have bp? do you think it would make working with them easier for me, or should i keep quite in case they treat me differently?

Only two people know I'm BP, as far as I know. And I told them because if something happened (I'm diabetic too) then they would kind know the whole story with meds... I don't tell anyone because I don't like people watching me waiting for me to do "something bipolar". I live in a very small town...

get a letter from your shrink and only a shrink stating you have bp then you are protected under the ADA ACT. have it place in your file

My boss was the only one who knew after I had my breakdown. I finally told my coworkers because I'm sure they thought I was getting "special treatment." Now they know i fall under the Americans with Disability Act. Now I think most of them understand why I work less hours, quiet desk, etc. Nobody treats me any differently since I worked here for 9 years before I was DX'd bipolar.

ok so whats the right amount of time to let go before you tell them. and bizzaroworld file in the pdocs office or a file at work. I know i am protected by ADA but how do I go about proving it?
