I have Bipolar II and I used to smoke some pot and it would calm me down and a lot of the time put me to bed, but I wanted to know if anyone had any comments. I live in Colorado where it is legal with a license and I have my license. I really makes me feel better! no more anxiety and more calm, what do you think?

i smoke pot but not much,only a few puffs or roll a joint,ive learned not to have too much as it caused terrifying psychosis and memory loss and body stoned.

i smoke not only for BP but for other issues also and neuro knows it. i seriously couldnt function without it. I so wish it was legal in the state I live in but its not. i have learned thru the years just how much of it to smoke and not smoke any more than that. I think it should be legal in all 50 states

triggers psychosis in me. Like, that lasts.

A friend smuggled in a joint to me when in hospital...already really crazy & seemed to way make things worse.

ha, Zany - that's me too. I love pot, but it does bad things to me. Like paranoia to the extreme. I once thought I was going to die on it. But it used to be my friend. =(

I'm super pro-pot, though. I think it's a fantastic remedy for lots of our ailments, if it works for that specific person.

Yeah, I am kinda scared to try it again because I don't want to waste an entire day being high. I have my papers to write and that's why I thought it would be a good calming remedy that would make me settle down and focus, because it does that for some people. Who out there does smoke and does it calm you down and you are still lucid to do some work?

I am 10% manic with no hopes of being anything else in this life time which is part of the reason the doctors are all for me smoking it. I started smoking it for pain relief due to brain tumor and other physical ailments and then pdoc noticed it did help with the mania. I smoke set amount - no more no less tho it took trial and error to figure out what that amount should be. I can get high and still remain motivated 90% of the time. I still can focus while stoned well as good as I can unstoned which isn't saying a whole lot in truth lol. I wll say this. I have had a few pdocs and nueorologists tell me that there is a huge difference between those that are BP1 smoking it and those that are BP2 smoking it. Just something to consider.
