Would that be the Veranda Beach in Oroville, Washington?

Like you, I have no plans, but it looks like I might have the time and resources to stay out of the Sunbelt heat this summer. That notion has been working out so far. I am currently in Northeastern US, enjoying the cheap thrill of taunting my southern friends with descriptions of the crisp mornings and evenings. The heat there is already thick enough to be felt through the most conditioned of air, especially when it is surrounded by heat absorbing asphalt and concrete.

Veranda Beach might qualify as out of the Sunbelt heat. . . Been thinking Green Bay, Wisconsin, too. Their position on the Great Lakes gives them a unique boating population and gobs of river access.

Haha..... Veranda Beach is on the front of my house......smile.... I lived in Texas for about a year and there is wicked heat there in the summers but the winters were sure nice

I will be going to see Mt. Rushmore. I'm going to Colorado Springs, CO to pick up stuff I have in storage that has been there for 10 years, ever since I left my ex. I will be glad to finally close that chapter in my life by getting that stuff. I will be seeing my stepson, Nathan, while I'm in CO. Can't wait for that. I also plan to golf a lot this summer.

I loved the beaches on the shores of the Lake off Toronto. I went to the islands just off the coast and would rent a bicycle and just ride around and then go to the beach. I'd sunbathe etc..
Like another world.
This summer is a 'staycation' for me! The first week in June!! Coming up soon!! I am grateful!!

I am staying in my college town and working at a grocery store, im hoping to get all my days off in lumps so i can go on camping trips and little road trips throughout the summer. Im also hoping to play a lot of music with my band. They make me really happy.

No plans for a West road trip this summer. I wanted to go, but I feel I should work on a job or going back to school. Besides I would have to go with my parents. I need a bit of buffer space from them. I originally wanted to go up to Seattle with the parents then down the Oregon coast to mid California. Then back home, East.

Maybe next year. I will just take photos in my area this summer. Try and find a job, or go back to school.

Im going to visit Toronto soon for the first time!

Other than that just enjoying free summer concerts and picnics in the park. Money is always the issue and it's so frustrating when you work so hard 40 + hours a week....

Sadly I'm going to Colorado to see my granddad and it's going to be the hardest thing ever. He has Alzheimer's and last summer I went to go visit him and he was asking where I was. Everyone thinks theses are his last months and he helped raise me when my dad left, stepped in to be my father and yet again I'm scared he's going to forget me again. It's very painful. But that's my summer plan.

People have some lovely plans .... The beaches here are nice Mark ... You're right!!.... I can have some nice times at home

Cry I am so very sorry that your granddad is so ill..... My mom had Alzheimer's and I was her caregiver.... I used to feel like my heart was being ripped out.... I'm here if you ever want to pm ..... Big hug.....xo

I'm thinking about taking a road-trip through the rockies, to the prairies where I grew up. I've been feeling lost and homesick lately. I think I need to see old friends.

We're not going away anywhere - there's really a lot to do here in town that we haven't done yet.

Music downtown on the weekends, flower festival, haunted tour; things like that. In the fall there are riverboat cruises, and I want to do that too ☺

I am just back from portugal where we had a wonderfully hot 26 degrees celcius (don't know the american conversion!) I love the sun and the pool so am hoping we get some good weather here now. there's a beach about half an hour away that i love and i collect beautiful stones there that i arrange on colourful plates or in bowls and give them to people randomly! there's a lovely river walk about two mins from my house too that is great at this time of year and i always come back with a bunch of wild flowers for my kitchen. i also will be travelling to dublin to see my daughter in a play in a few weeks time, she's studying performing arts so am looking forward to that.
cry, i too am sorry to hear about your grandfather - My mother had vascular dementia and i used to go to help take care of her at weekends for a few years before she died and spent the last six weeks at night beside her bed. she didn't know me but i felt that she knew i was connected to her. i will always treasure the times i spent with her then. I hope you can find great moments with your grandfather to hold in your heart in the days to come.

It makes me happy to see everyone's plans! Cry- I know first hand that it will be a hard trip, many hugs.
I will be working. But on the weekends we plan to entertain at our home, kayak in the river, and hopefully go camping at the beach.
