I wake up in the middle of the night with panic /anxiety attacks
DO THESE COME FROM BAD DREAMS ? I ask myself ?
I meditate on Biblical passages that have specific meaning to let go of worry and anxiety.
When that doesn't work, I take a Xanax
Mindful ...stay in the present . type of thinking helps also
The mental-only anxiety requires concentrating on breaths and meditative practices. Certain kinds of music helps me, too, sometimes. And simple artsy stuff, like just playing with paints or coloring something in.
And if all else fails, Ativan.
When it starts, I fill my mind with happy and pure thoughts. Turn the negative off - television, phones, negative people, etc. Drink warm chamomile tea. Take a brisk walk. Play a game or watch a movie.
It doesn't always work but I'll take the 50/50 shot that it will.
Oh yeah and there is always Klonopin when I feel like I'm losing the battle.
My GP swears by mindfulness... I've not gotten into it yet but think that I eventually will... She's actually studying it now to eventually teach it as it's helped her so much
Big hug of calm for you my friend..xo
so I just suffer with it. Nothing I can do about it.
