We were created, at least in part, for the glory of God and to glorify God through our lives here on earth. Of course the Fall interrupted God's "original" plan for Adam and Eve and we have been born into sin ever since. All they had to do was "obey" His words to them and they failed. However, through faith and redemption in Jesus Christ we are now "equipped" to glorify the Father through the Son by the power of the Holy Spirit. When we get to heaven we will be in the presence of God and Christ to worship them for all eternity. Revelation 4:11 states....

"You are worthy, O Lord,
To receive glory and honor and power;
For You created all things,
And by Your will they exist and were created."

The whole "why" of creation is a question that I believe will be answered when we get to heaven as well. God had a reason, but I don't believe we can truly know what that full reason is while we are here. To give Him glory is most deffinately part of it, but is it the "whole" reason? I can't say that I know. It is a teriffic topic of study no doubt. Thanks for posting it.

Absolutely normaeh, we are here for God's glory, and not ours. He created us because He wanted to expand His Glory. Unfortunately, we fail God in two ways, we fail to manifest His character and we sin. But we know that hopefully we will be changed when His son returns to earth and stays here forever with us.

God manifested himself through angels and profits, yes. Through Jesus??
When I tried to look up the definition, I got some synonyms.
Synonyms
1. clear, distinct, unmistakable, patent, open, palpable, visible, conspicuous. 3. reveal, disclose, evince, evidence, demonstrate, declare, express.
These seem to match what Jesus said:

John 10
30 I and my Father are one.

I am not sure this is what is meant by "manifested." You see, Jesus Himself, said He and the father are one. True, Jesus did do the will of the Father:

Mark 14:36
And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.

This is soo important for us. We need to learn to discern the will of God and do it. Not easy because we do not easily know the will of God. But, by study of His word and being in His presence, we can learn how to discern the will of God.

Jesus is saying in John 10 that he and his Father are one in mind and purpose. Jesus is the God manifest. The Word made flesh. God's Word made flesh.

Mark 14, same thing. Jesus is going God's will and not his. But you are right. Remember that Jesus couldn't do anything without his Father.

John 1 (KJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.

Although this was written down by John, the beloved, it was inspired by God. I believe that "the word" should be translated in a different way. Most translations I have researched has "the Word." This was Jesus. Jesus was the "Word" of God, but in this scripture it also says He "was" God.

This starts the mystery of the triune Godhead, for me. God is the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Jesus is not just a flesh representation, chosen by God. He IS the flesh representation OF God.

Well, scripture does not tell us that Jesus is God at all. Plus, our God is not a mystery to us. Scripture reveals who our Creator is.

1. John 1 v 1,2,3&4, is not about Jesus. When you read it in Greek, the word "word" is "logos". It is not talking about Jesus at all. "Logos" means, someone's plans, thoughts or reasons. It is talking about God's plans and reasons. Then... in verse 14, it starts to talk about Jesus. The word, "Word", should not be in caps. It was translated that way by the translators. Yes, Jesus is the "Word", but not in these verses.

You have to remember that we are reading English bibles that have been translated from Hebrew and Greek. There are errors in our bibles, not by God, but by the translators.

2. The Godhead is God, then Jesus, then Man, then Woman. Doesn't the bible say that man is the head of woman, and that God is the head of Christ? That is the Godhead. God is not three, He is one.

Yes, Jesus is the Word made flesh. John 1v14 But he is not God.

The concept of the Godhead is that God "exists" in three persons and that each is neither greater or lesser than the other two and they are "together" indivisible from each other and therefore are also ONE. It is kind of like a cat chasing his own tail and wondering who is chasing whom? To argue the semantics of this topic is neither "fruitful" or "helpful" to our "identity" as Christians in my opinion. Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God Whom God sent to save a sinful and lost world and in Whom the Holy Spirit dwells in a most "dynamic" and supernatural fashion. When we accept the Son sent from the Father we are infused with the Holy Spirit. Inside the "trinty" is an undivided "unity". Always has been and always will be. And no there is not a single verse in the Bible which says explicitly that Jesus is God, but if we hold true to the concept of the Godhead and the trinity they are as one and are inseperable. We do not need these exact words to tell us that Jesus was God manifest. There is plenty of "proof" for that statement in the responses to this post. Good stuff my friends. ALWAYS keep the Word and it's application through interpretation as "fresh" as it is "new" to us each day. If we EVER stop the debate that is when we must worry big time!!! Oh and another other "item". I am in no way, shape or form a King James ONLY person even though I know that many good Christains are. However, I did grow up with it, read the Bible through the first time with it and have extreme respect for it's place as a true "icon" of the english translation of the Bible. Is it word for word completely accurate to the original texts, which we no longer have by the way(I mean the ORIGINAL autographs which have long since "disintegrated" literally), in the Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek? The answer to that question is of course no. It is an absolute impossibility in the same manner that translating english into another language today yields "problems" in interpretation. Our modern english has more words than any other language on earth. This does not detract from the scruplous and diligent work done by the King James scholars who managed to convey the complete "essence" of the Word with all the tools and information they had available to them back in 1611. Again this is wonderful food for thought and discussion as we all move forward to gain more and more understanding of the Bible each day which in turn will yield the most important result. Continuing to deepen our understanding and loving relationship with our God, His Son and the Holy Spirit who are one. Amen

Well said suicial, one God yet 3 persons .. God the Father God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. It is a hard concept and one I believe on faith, one day It will be explained. We are body mind spirit, a reflection on the Godhead. on three but one.

Thank you very much, Chris. I am not a stickler for the King James Version. I have found that there is also an "Authorized King James Version. This through me at first. But, you are right. The English Language is really a difficult one. Mostly, as example, because we have such things as to, too, and two. All sounding exactly alike, but meaning very different things!!

Some versions go back to the original language and do a "phrase" interpretation. An example is the scripture from the King James which says:

Psalm 46:10
Be still, and know that I am God:

The phrase "Be still" can best be interpreted as "quit striving" or "quit fighting." We need to realize the original language is outdated. We need to study other, newer translations to get the best affect of what the scriptures truly say. But........many still rely on KJV for their scripture reading. This is good for newer Christians. It is great to get them started reading. But, newer more updated scripture should be read by more mature Christians.
