....does one get over the loss over the love of his life? How do I EVER get over losing my wife, my confidant and my best friend? She fought Type 1 Brittle Diabetes, Renal Failure, Thyroid Failure, Severe Bradychardia, Pneumonia and ARDS for so long and so well. I am not only grieving losing her, I am at the same time angry at her for leaving me. I know that sounds selfish. What the hell is wrong with me? I know anger is part of the grieving process, but REALLY?! I never new that it could her this much. I lost my father in 1994 and my mother in 2011 and it didn't impact me like this. I have been taking my blood pressure meds and anti-depressant but I feel like I am in a fog, lifeless, weak and drained. So again I pose the question, how do I get over this?

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
I have a long, gory herstory of mental health problems and my *plan* is to ply the same psychotherapy tools to this NFF deal that I have plied to the rest of my NFF List. DS is part of that active therapy program and though this particular forum is slower than cold molasses, there are allot of far more active forums available here. I hope you'll take the time to surf around and see if some of the other forums might resonate with your needs.
So far, the children have had priority in this crisis, but I am also looking for a live grief support group. Sometimes a body needs a flesh and blood shoulder to cry on.
Gentle support while you find what works for you, D&O.
Words do, indeed, fail. Some things live beyond words.
Between October, 2016 and April, 2017, our family went through the deaths of my father-in-law and my estranged brother and mother. The *haunting* has intensified during the most recent loss. Cumulative effect?
If you get a chance read the book The Shack....It's probably the best book I've ever read and helped me a great deal with the grief process.... It's also a film but the film would seem odd if you didn't read the book first
I bought it second hand from Amazon as it was recommended to me
Anger is a secondary emotion so something has caused it so in that realm I think that the anger can make a lot of sense
I don't think that we ever 'get over' it.... We work through it over time..... I found that gratitude has been a great tool for me
I've not lost a life partner but my birth family
There is a good Widows and Widowers board on here.... People are in different stages of healing on it
As Arf wrote there are different and more active boards... You can look under My Groups at the top of the page
I'm give you a link for the W&W..... Another hug and a blessing......xo
