Ever since I started my journey in greif I have lost interest in doing the simple things around the house. I do enough to get by. My house is becoming a pack rack. Here is my question. Has anyone else felt this way? I am unable to keep it clean. Also does anyone know how to motivate yourself to do the things you need to do?

I AM EXPERIENCING THE SAME THING, I'M NOT SURE HOW TO MOTIVATE MYSELF, I JUST MAKE MYSELF DO A LITTLE EACH DAY AND DO MY BEST TO KEEP UP WITH THINGS, MY MAIN ISSUE IS TRYING TO MAKE MYSELF GO TO WORK!!!

it's a way of thinking about what has happened & sorting it out in out minds. part of healing in our grieving process. making a daily list & giving myself praise for what i do get done, seems to help me. hugs, smiles, prayer, & lol. Bess

Learn to love a dirty house that is my advice. i have no motivation and me and the dust bunnies are becoming good friend. sorry for making lite of the situation but that is how I deal with my messy house. Focus on yourself and when the time is right you can focus on other things.

I thought that was just me as well! I can't seem to get anything done. I sleep all the time. I have been tested for CFS and waiting for the results. If I am this tired because of my losses I will be amazed. I can't believe how powerful loss is. I really relate to all of you!

I can relate to you about losing interest in cleaning and doing the simple things in life. I found that I couldn't do anything after my father and brother passed away. Before their passing, I would take time everyday to do some cleaning. Nowadays, I dedicate two days of the week for cleaning. I also list items on lists and check them off as they are completed - just as Fouty had mentioned. I guess after my father and brother passed away, I learned that there are more important things in life than dusting and doing laundry everyday. I have slowly learned, through self reflection, how to balance what really mattered to me AND the quality of life I wanted for myself.

Oh yeah. It's called grief, depression etc. I still fight it at times and it's been twenty years but it is much much better. I use to be a clean freak(able to eat off the floors and all that) I have never gotten back to that but that's okay because my priorities have changed and in all I think they have been good changes. Just do a little at the time and congratulate yourself on that. Hey I only got the Christmas decorations up on the 23rd. but it will still be Christmas on the 25th.

as most of u know Zaiden my 10 month old grandson died 9/3/07 & my mother died 12/4/07. spending time with my ds friends gets addictive. it's also healing to be able to express what is on my mind to others who understand & are going through some what of the same things. to have an interchange of support, encouragement, hugs, flowers, & prayer is healing. many times i don't get things done because i'm spending time with my ds friends. i thank God for all of u. the right word, poem, verse, or song always comes at the perfect time. i'm a pack rat. i try to pack at least 1 box every week to share at the church free store. i'm asking God to help me declutter my home. got to go spend some time with hubby. blessings & lol. I'm so glad there is others that feel the same way. I just to the minimum to get by every day. My ironing looks like mount Olympus but as long as my daughters have ironed clothes to go out in and husband a shirt for work I'm fine. I rather go out than stay at home.
