I think the sign you are looking for is actually when he passed on and went into God's hands.
You're never forget but you'll learn to cope. It's time to begin to get on with you. Many hugs.
I do believe in signs. The day my beloved grandmother died, I was at the airport having just left her side at hospice. It was time for me to go home. My cousin called me as I was boarding the plane to let me know "Betty was gone". Devastated and not sure I was supposed to stand upright and board a three hour flight...I did what anyone would do, RAN to the bathroom. Locked behind the security of the door I screamed but no sound was produced. I cried until I thought I would crumble. Then a woman in the stall next to me farted so loudly it snapped me back into reality.
I collected myself and returned to the boarding line. I just popped in line and when I looked up, I was standing behind a young man who was wearing a back pack. The front part had a mesh pocket with a very vivid picture of Jesus with his arms open wide as if welcoming someone into heaven.
Right then and there...I knew exactly where my grandmother was and WHO she was with.
A few days later, I felt something stirring in my bedroom in the early morning. I sat up in my bed and said, "Betty, I need my sleep right now. I have school in a few hours" (she was a former teacher and valued education). So I slipped back under my covers. The next thing I felt was a light scratching of my head.
I told my cousin the next day and she said, "Don't you remember...she always scratched our heads as a love tap?" I hadn't remembered, but that's exactly what I felt. A love tap...from heaven.
After approx 40 years, I went to confession on Holy Thursday..I spoke directly to a priest. I felt wonderful. The Tuesday after Easter my husband had a massive heart attack and passed. In that case, I feel that God brought me back to the church so I could handle what was about to happen. My husband and I built a house in South Carolina.
I decided to rescue a dog (I though we would be good for each other at this time) The dog was in Wood-Bridge NJ at a foster home...but he was rescued from SC.
My friend was going to read a poem called The Dash at my husband's wake. It's about the dash on a gravestone.....the birthdate and the death date and the dash in between. The dash is
the life of the person. My new dog's name is Dash (I did not name him....it's the name he came with)
If that isn't a sign.....I don't know what is. Believe
God bless
Main thing is try to relax and get plenty of sleep. I think we meet our loved ones in our dreams. I had a few dreams where I visited my brother on the other side, and it was so incredibly peaceful. That's when I started to relax about this whole death thing. It's just the pain of separation that is difficult. When you allow yourself to deeply relax, and sleep, maybe you'll meet him in a dream, and you'll see that he is not only indeed fine, but he's not as far away from you as you might think...he's already there, only a dream away.
My son passed away 10 yrs ago at the age of 18 from alcohol poisoning. We had a long, 4 yr battle w/ drugs and alcohol and it changes them. While I know it changed him, I also know he was a good kid with a loving heart. I'm sure your boyfriend was as well. I say open your mind ... talk to him ... and then just wait. May they come to you when you need them most.
thanks for sharing first off. after my mother died it took a few months before i had dreams that were very vivid of her telling me she was ok and in a beautiful place she wished i could see and was with her sister. I was so upset that I hadint had her near me or feel anything for those two months. after a couple dreams I dream of her almost every night but they are dreams that are strange and some are of me when i took care of her. it could be her way of saying im ok and remembering what i did for her before her passing. most the time loved ones that have passed come to us in dreams because its the easiest time to get to us since we are in a state that allows them to when they have just passed over. It may take a while for him to get to the point of knowing how to do this. My father finally after three months heard her calling his name from the bedroom for something like she normally did in her voice. Its so hard because we want to connect so badly. since those dreams so vivid I have had none since. when someone closes to us dies we want that connection so bad that theyre here in some way and are by our side. give some time. but im sure you will find them. hugs to you and sympathy for your loss.
