I'm so so sorry for you loss ...
As a Jungian & Rosicrucian, I've always believed in signs. I renewed my faith after my husband was killed in a 2007 car collision ...
At the time of my husband's death, I had just brought our dog in the house to keep her from upsetting the neighbors. She kept screeching a sound I'd never heard a dog make. She suddenly stopped & for some reason I was drawn to look at the clock, it read 11:07pm, then I heard my husband say to me, "I love you, it was a car accident, there is life insurance money. You need to go to bed now b/c tomorrow is a big day". Strong feelings of peace & happiness infused my entire mind, body & soul.
I drifted off to sleep quickly. I woke at 6am the following morning to find my husband not in bed next to me. I thought to myself that he must've stayed the night w/a friend, so I decided to get up to start my day since we had plans to take the kids on the train to go to the movie theater downtown.
As I was in kitchen, the doorbell rang - at that instant I knew that what I heard before going to bed was Bob talking to me. I was shaking as I opened the door to a plain clothes police chaplain who was there to inform me of my husband's death ...
When I was in shock, as you are, I missed alot of my DH's (dead husband) signs. Its nothing you do wrong - its the impact of his death that caused shock. There are always more signs to come ...
In the 5yrs 10 months I've been widowed I've only had 3 or 4 dreams of DH I can remember ...
The signs I do see are all around me such as the house alarm lighting up (its not connected) or the Mourning Doves that sat on my roof for 2 weeks or the mound of dove feathers on inside my enclosed patio or the butterfly that followed my kids & I every few feet then rotated around to look directly at us, I still have the "our songs" come on the radio when I tell my DH he needs to send me a song. Incredibly, one time, I had the same song by .38 Special play on 3 radio stations simultaneously - one would end then the other station would begin playing it then the next. Its all pretty wild ...
In an earlier post the book "Hello from Heaven" was mentioned, I also read it & found it to be heartwarming. I also read, "Journey of Souls & Destiny of Souls" by Michael Newton - I read them nightly just like some people read the Bible daily/nightly ...
The other is that when I got further out I began to remember the signs DH had sent but was too stricken w/grief to recognize. Somehow my brain retained this information. Later on, I began to recall synchronicities from a year prior to Bob's death; they answered all my why questions including the "did DH know he was going to die". The answer is Yes, although he did not know it as death, he knew it as something so magnificient nothing could stop him from meeting his destiny - albeit a car collision w/a road raged 19yo ...
As you release more & more grief you'll start to come out of the fog & have a better chance of recognizing his signs ...
*Be kind and loving w/yourself first ..."
Indeed I did know, Beautiful it is when our loved ones stop by to remind us there is no death - only a "missing" on our part
We recently had to put one of our cats to sleep. After it happened I was sitting in the living room watching TV and out of the corner of my eye I saw a ghostly cat figure's head pop up above the arm of the reclining chair and then go back down to the floor and I heard a thud of a paw hitting the wood. Just like he did when he was still here. I looked over and he was gone. I am convinced it was his way of saying goodbye.
Hang in there, maybe you should go to grief counseling, it might help.
Hugs
Lily
In our state you can adopt a streach of highway and in return for keeping that area clean the hy dept will erect a sign in memory of a loved one that has passed. We adopted a two mile streach of hyway in memory of my grandson that we lost in a auto crash. One year to the date of his loss my daughter decied to have a clean up of the hy in his honor. My daughter was so worried that no one would attend. She kept saying Mom all of his friends have moved on.
The morning of the cleanup I prayed and ask God that there be a good turnout, and to please have Shawn give us a sign that he is with us.
There were over 100 of his friends arrive and as we began my daughter said Oh Mom look. There was a rainbow like none that we had ever seen. this rainbow was a streat line of color that started above Shawns bedroom and ran in a line to his gravesight.
A answer to a prayer and a sign from my beloved Grandson.
