General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
My brother is really good to me in most ways. His texts are great. He addresses everything that I say. But in person, it's all about him. He goes on and on about his friends, saying good and bad things about them, he talks about very personal things about our youngest brother and his wife, he badmouthing Trump, knowing that I voted for him, he badmouthing my niece and tells a story about her that did not go down that way. Last night at dinner, he didn't like when I talked to our friend and made rude comments. He talked at length about his ex-sister-in-law. Our friend told him that she's been hearing the same story for years. I don't like when he visits my Aunt with me. He talks about sex a lot and he again, monopolizes the conversation. We are mad at each other but we are going to the beach this morning. I am just in tears.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

I hope today will help.
Everyone has the right to vote for whomever they want, that's why we live in a free country!
You are a good person! I hope you feel better. HUGS
I have - had - females I was doing volunteer work that were obnoxious in similar ways. They had to spout political crap and say orange man bad constantly. Even when it didn't fit into the conversation. I think with some older adults this can be a sort of cognitive decline to be so obnoxious and rude really. Especially about the Trump crap. I just think it is some hitch in their thinking, their brain, a form of cognitive decline or even dementia where they get fixated on some ugly thing to say and then it pops out at times it is inappropriate.
Same with the sex stuff. I worked at a behavioral health hospital once and we had older adults, some with dementia, in there. Some were fixated on sex. I bet now some are fixated on politics. Sheesh. Good luck on that brother.
I think you are too nice and need to speak up more and tell him he is being rude or obnoxious. I would not say I feel such and such. He can't hear your feelings or isn't capable of accepting them and listening. Just know what you are dealing with. We often love difficult people. Just get real about his being good to you. Sometimes, well often, he is obnoxious, rude, demands attention, etc.
sigh. . . i shoot to hold the love sacred enough to help me forgive those stinky parts. ah. . . the things we do for love. . .
If on average things are more good than bad , take notice or visa versa.
I have three siblings (all men) and we are all really different. I think as we get older our quirks get even more profound. Don’t know why that is. I’m at the point in my life where I just try to accept that most people are who they are and I can’t control everything. I gotta pick my battles. I’m happier when I just let stuff roll off me. It’s not about being a door mat but just not dying on every hill.
