A pretty good looking guy liked me on POF so I wrote back. He wrote a long text about where he is in life and said I could do the same. He said he believes in honesty from the beginning. So I gave him the history of my disability. I went into more detail than necessary and I haven't heard back from him. He lives about 20 minutes from me. Sometimes, I am so darned honest, it goes against me. Will I never learn? I left another message for him asking for a chance.

Consider that you learned a lesson in "honesty" without knowledge in sharing personal history.
This is why we keep reminding everyone to 'be careful' and to limit sharing of personal confidential information through social media online. Once it's out there, there's no going back on what was shared.
He may need time to process that you were meeting his 'honesty' with detailed information.
Here's to you! You shared it here, knowing that you will receive encouragement, support, understanding and acceptance in the process.
If he does not respond, that's his choice, his decision, and you did what you thought was the right choice for you. Be proud of your decision and hold your head high!
that said. . .
you didn't mention how long it's been, but there is a world full of possibilities as to why he hasn't responded. don't be too quick to give up hope. one of my personal favorite things about written communications is that i have time to think before i respond.
Slow is best when meeting new people
It's good that you realized it. I'm sure most people have done TMI before on dating sites. Just be careful next time!
And, continue to be careful how much you share with this person;. You do not know them. Ask to speak by phone, to at least verify if it's really a guy and see what area code they give you too, to see if it's in your city.
Be careful, okay? :-)
