Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hi. I wrote the other day about my morning anxiety. And yes it is just such a horrible feeling.
It actually has been lasting throughout the day. Early evening it seems to subside a bit. But I know it'll start all over the next day.
I have anti anxiety meds which may take the edge off. But never want to over take them anyway. (And yes on low dose of an antidepressant). (Guess it may have to be raised ?)
Anyway I know this forum is here to write it out and I needed that this morning.

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...
What do you mean by the increase is kicking your butt? How much have you gone up at one time?
I tend to do very small increments.
I find that the morning anxiety is less when I have a plan for the morning. If I have an unstructured day ahead, it is too open and allows me to spiral. It works well for me to have a plan, not a very ambitious plan, but some kind of structure so I can mindlessly get started on my day. If I have to make decisions right away the fear of doing it wrong washes in and then I'm dealing with a lot more.
Morning anxiety is common, due to the cortisol that naturally wakes us up.
I found it interesting how you wrote that by early evening, you feel a bit better.
Perhaps journaling all day could help you to see what "shifts" during the day that helps you to feel better at night? One guess is that the day is almost over, and it wasn't as bad as your anticipatory anxiety thought it would be that morning.
But, if you write it out all day, hopefully you can find your own personal reasons.
I've had anxiety over 25 years and it's a daily struggle. Taking medication and doing weekly therapy have helped me. It's a tough thing for sure, you are not alone!!
Idk about the evening thing. I think it is because I have some sort of relief of bad things happening. Idk. I I usually start feeling better close to dinner hour.
I still have my worries and all however.
Very difficult.
It’s like you live each day just getting to the next to do the same thing.
Maybe try keeping a journal? If you write in it all day, you could see patterns of what helps and what shifts during the day that helps you to feel less anxious at night. And, writing in a journal just helps anyway, because you can write anything and everything you want.... get it out of your head and on to paper.
