Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hi. I wrote the other day about my morning anxiety. And yes it is just such a horrible feeling.
It actually has been lasting throughout the day. Early evening it seems to subside a bit. But I know it'll start all over the next day.
I have anti anxiety meds which may take the edge off. But never want to over take them anyway. (And yes on low dose of an antidepressant). (Guess it may have to be raised ?)
Anyway I know this forum is here to write it out and I needed that this morning.

It's bedtime but I heated up some coffee to take my pills with and made a fresh pot so I can have some as soon as I wake up tomorrow a.m. I've been on a roll for 2 days with cleaning and getting other stuff done. I bought a new cell phone about a week ago and I've been having some issues. I stopped at Verizon and a nice young man jumped in to help. As a result, I was able to get an iced...

getting my anxieties of the day into writing while they are still fresh isn't a cure, but it sure helps with the anxiety management. i wake up an hour or so before the household just so that i can do exactly that with minimum interruptions.
I just know that here, on this board, I am not alone.
I wish for all there was some miracle instant cure for this feeling.
It's actually so sad to feel this way.
Can I ask a dumb question?
Is it dangerous for your body to have anxiety that is bad ?
That is concerning.
Can anxiety do damage to your body?
I've found that distracting myself from what is bothering me helps the most. Here are a few ways that I do it:
1. Go for a walk--with another person if possible
2. Try to do something (e.g. chores, work, hobby, exchange email.)
3. Sleep. But it can boomerang
4. Meditation and mindfulness
5. Talk to someone about anything
6. Watch TV or read
7. Write on DS
Working with your doctor to increase your meds sounds like a good idea. Explaining the extent of your symptoms should help with the discussion.
Hope this helps you.
for what it's worth
i kinda like this little synopsis on the anatomy of an anxiety attack

And yes my blood pressure and I see a cardiologist all is fine there for now.
I am certainly happy it sounds like a positive turn out for this person and something I would investigate.
You are not alone . I wake up everyday wondering is today a good day or anxious day ?
Like you mentioned , I increased my lexapro and the adjustment is kicking my butt .
This support group does help to know we are not alone . Hope we can continue to communicate
Even though I’ve now been awake for awhile I still have the anxiety.
