Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

The past few days my stomach problems have been acting up and it's making my mental health decline pretty quickly. At least I'm pretty sure that's why I'm feeling so bad. Today I woke up at 4am and couldn't sleep so I stayed up til 8 and finally got to sleep. After I woke up I just felt horrible and sick and dizzy. I feel like my thoughts are just going no where. Like you can hear your thoughts when you think (at least I'm pretty sure that's normal) but it feels like it's going no where. Like I'm not even in my head. Thinking makes me anxious I keep trying to ground myself but naming things in the room but it feels like just gibberish is going into my brain. Everything is making me anxious and I just want to give up and go lay down I am really scared that I'm finally just losing my mind I'm so tired of this already I don't want to be awake. I tried eating because usually that helps but I could barely eat one french fry. I have those smiley face fries and for some reason just looking at the face on them made me weirdly anxious and I know that sounds stupid but it's just scaring my how easily everything is triggering me. I could really use some support right now. Even just surviving is getting hard again.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
Deep breathing from the lower belly also calms the fight or flight instinct by letting your body know you are relaxed. At first this may be difficult, but if you practice every day for at least 15 minutes you can use it anytime you feel stressed.
I also use journaling and then go back and challenge my thoughts. One technique I used which also really helped and I should go back to was to set aside an hour everyday and think or say out loud what I was worried or anxious about until I couldn’t come up with anything else.
One tool that I find extremely helpful when my anxiety is taking over is a weighted neck scarf and/or blanket. It feels like you are being hugged and calms the body. It’s amazing how well it works. You can find them on amazon;

Breathing with you while you sort your own. Easy does it, my healing warrior. Hope healing happens here. Some most excellent suggestions have been offered.
Once you get it down to a single sentence, it's easier to do the calming breaths, and the distracting of grounding is the best way to find a natural balance fast even when anxiety is partying.
