Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Found today that I am pregnant. This is my first pregnancy at 35 years old.
I’ve suffered from anxiety my entire life, but I’ve really struggled the last 7 years or so. Terrible panic attacks for which I sought therapy and treatment for.
One of my biggest fears, since childhood, was pregnancy. My husband and I avoided sex for almost 2 years because I simply was terrified of getting pregnant.
But I didn’t want to lose my marriage, and I didn’t want to regret not ever having children. We slowly started having sex, but only when I knew I wasn’t there ovulating. Then I took it further, thinking it would take several months to get pregnant. We conceived on our second try.
I. AM. FREAKING. OUT.
I’m shaking, I don’t want to eat, I am just an uncomfortable ball of panic. Literally.
I did not think this would happen so quickly. I was on Zoloft, but went off I several months ago because I was afraid of potential harm it would do to a baby.
HAS ANYONE OUT THERE TAKEN ZOLOFT DURING PREGNANCY? IS IT SAFE?
All my research suggest 50/50. I have Xanax on hand, and again would LOVE to take it, but I won’t because I am terrified of how it could impact the baby.
I need help. I need support. I am terrified. I am trembling as I write this.
Any kind words would be truly appreciated

Hello- I am new to the group
-
My therapist really knocked some sense into me last Friday about my spending. She said that there are needs and there are wants. She said that there is always going to be cheap stuff to buy, but do I need it? The answer is mostly "no". So today, I am taking back some things that I bought online at Kohl's, namely a 9 x 12 rug and a quilt for my bed. I also bought sheets that I don't need...
My niece had major anger issues all her life. She was on meds most of her life also. She married and somehow after her daughter was born, everything evened out. She takes no meds and is calm and happy. Her daughter is four and she's pregnant with a 2nd child.
Don't look at motherhood as a dilemma or a bad thing. Take each day as it comes. Don't expect to be a perfect mom. Just remember, your child will be a blessing.
I commend your husband for caring enough to understand and stay by your side.
Read baby books, try to stay calm. I'm sure your husband has his worries too.
Support each other and realize the miracle your going to bring into the world.....

Mid - your comment made me cry (happy relief tears). Thank you so much
Your support, even from complete strangers, means so much to me - I can never express it online.
i'm a 17 year old boy so not really qualified to answer this but all in all i'm sure you will be an amazing mother and think of what you'll have at the end! a whole human!!!
i know you can get through this!!!!!
It is the safest as it has the least amount of transfer to breastmilk and I believe also to the baby if you are pregnant.
I am sorry you are struggling.
