Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I am new to this group and I just wanted to see if there are others out there dealing with what I am. For the last year or so I've been dealing with what I think might be anxiety. I get these weird sensations like my balance is off and I'm gonna tip over I get a feeling of uneasiness in my chest not a pain but a sensation like I'm gonna have a heart attack. I always get over it but the physical symptoms are intense I get shaky hands I feel like I'm gonna faint sometimes and feels like I can't maintain balance without feeling weak in the legs. My dad thinks I'm having panic attacks. Again, I never get any actual pain in my chest so I'm sure it's not heart related. I'm 29 very active and I try to stay as healthy as possible. I just want to know if these sensations are steming from panic and anxiety or if it's a possible health issue causing it. It sucks and I want it to stop so bad. I always fear dying which only makes my symptoms worse when I get that fearful sensation in my chest. Anybody had that or am I crazy?

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
You've taken the important first step in writing it out.
Anxiety is natural. It is a helper, so those sensations are telling you your balance is needing some help.
Try even breathing, staying hydrated, and keep writing in a daily journal.
Best wishes as you find your better balance.
In my lifelong struggle with abnormal anxiety, I believe that random panic attacks are abnormal anxiety, all growed up. Emphasis on, "abnormal." With the normal, all-natural anxiety, a panic attack enables survival if clear and present danger surprises you with an unexpected attack. With abnormal anxiety, such as the global anxiety from the pandemic shutdown, the anxiety simmers and festers until it begins to see threats and manifesting panic attacks where there is no clear and present danger.
The fact that your symptoms started during the pandemic makes me wonder if you are suffering "Coronaphobia." You can look that up. It is the sub-pandemic which has been sweeping the globe as a side-effect of the shutdowns, etc. Homo sapiens are a gregarious species and anxiety is extremely contagious among gregarious species. When one bird panics, the entire flock panics and flies off with it.
That does not imply you should disregard your current anxiety. Repressing anxiety has a way of forcing it into chain-reactions which can morph into truly monstrous evolutions. Sort freely. Sort often. Listening. . .
Welcome aboard. Hope you find stabilizing companionship here.
Welcome to daily strength :) I would say everyone experiences anxiety attacks in different variants, personally for me, mine being with tears streaming down my face followed by my whole entire face becoming tingly (a little like pins and needles), my hands shake uncontrollably as well as the feeling of immense danger/ failure.
What may be best is to journal your symptoms and keep track of anything that could be a potential trigger for these episodes.
One thing you mentioned regarding your balance was note worthy as it may be worth seeing if that symptom in fact triggers the feeling of panic (as you may not know what exactly is happening to you and the uncertainty creates further anxiety).
I think it is important to get your ears checked as you may have a fluid issue effecting your balance as I have had that happen to a friend of mine. At least then it may help with understanding of that individual symptom which may help ease other aspects too. :)
