Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hi everyone,
I'm new here and I've been scouring the internets trying to find others who might have experienced what I've been going through for the past year. It started last January, I would wake up in the morning and my whole body was vibrating (like I was sitting in an idling car). Then it started happening as I was drifting off to sleep; frequently causing me not to sleep at all. When COVID hit; these vibrations started happening during the day as well. A year later and they are nearly constant. I've seen so many doctors (Primary; Neurologists; cardiologists; endocrinologists; sleep studies; psychiatrists) and have had so many tests. All normal. The doctors have no idea what's wrong with me; they all advise they've never heard of anything like this but suggest it's likely a side effect of anxiety.
This makes some sense....I have been experiencing some health anxiety since June 2019 when I had the odd experience of my hand randomly going numb and convinced myself that I was having a stroke (though all subsequent testing has ruled that out). Months of worrying about that seemed to develop into heart palpitations (PVC's) by November so it makes sense that this could be a progression of an anxious state. Especially since it got worse when covid hit and I was definitely freaked out about that.
What I don't understand is that I continue to experience these symptoms even though I'm not experiencing any conscious anxiety. I practice mediation, yoga, regular exercise, - all the standard anxiety reducing techniques. This has been driving crazy; can't tell if this is anxiety or something the doctors having figured out yet.
Has anyone heard of anything like this? Any feedback/info would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I've lived with this symptom for most of my senior life with zero insight from the medical community. I most often call that sensation, "The Jitters," though I have quite a few names for this mysterious ^it^. The DS CL's ask us not to use "bad words" on this site, so I'll spare you the other names.
I've never really tracked this symptom or when it appears in my own case, but now you got me wondering if ^it^ is repressed anxiety. I have a long, colorful herstory of repression and denial.
I had it happen recently to me, i loved it, my body hummed all day , next day gone .
With the Covid crap hitting, my body was doing crazy stuff and I couldn't figure out why. 4 months later I finally went to my Dr and asked for meds. Bingo! That helped so much!!!
I can imagine how frustrated you must feel to reach out for help and yet be told they can't find anything wrong with you.
In reading the replies, there is someone that has experienced what you are feeling. This support group is terrific in at least being able to come to a group of compassionate people who understand. We are here for you.
