You just keep trying your best. If you do that, then you boss actions says more about them than it does about you. I know it doesn't help that much when you're in the thick of it, so try to give yourself something to look forward to after work today. You got this! We all know you do!
Anxiousann I am still trying my best and I do have something to look forward to as today is y 4 year wedding anniversary! SO I will be celebrating that after work. Thanks for your response.
I had one client who became very angry at my assistant. It turned out there were some problems which were not our fault. However, I let him vent, then discussed what he wanted done, and started by discussing some things we could do to address the situation. I said I would call Monday and let him know and did that. My suggestions
1. Be prepared. Maybe she wants to push you and others to work harder. If so, that's her job.
2. Organization She may want things done. Keep a good notebook, and keep track of your promises. So if she says think was supposed to be this week, where the hell is it, you say, I understand Ms. Gordon, I will get right on it and give you a followup. Then get her a memo the next day explaining status.
3. Calmness I have a family member who was one of the youngest directors at a Fortune 500 company. Growing up, he sometimes misbehaved and I would yell, Maybe he was supposed to be home at 12 and came in 20 to 2. I'd yell, and he did not become defensive and try to interrupt, and instead simply let me vent. Then afterwards, he would say I understand, I'll try to do better next time and it was no big deal.
4. Be honest Things tend to be easier, and don't try to BS if that's not your style.
