Today at the doctors my blood pressure was pretty high. I'm going to re test it tomorrow at my moms to see if it dropped. If not the doctor my need to run some tests Friday. I know it's just anxiety but being on a time limit for it to go down is making it hard. I'm hoping a good nights sleep will help.
I have been very anxious lately and worried about my blood pressure going up. I think seeing the machine on top of being at an anxiety producing appointment really spiked it. My concern is I still feel my heart racing and I need to be relaxing.
Any tips on calming down and lowering my blood pressure are helpful

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

I know this looks super weird, but it works really well: Take a couple deep breaths and then watch the video and do the tapping (EFT) along with it. http://eft.mercola.com/
Second, ask your doctor if Propranalol would be a good medicine for you. It is old, cheap and well-proven. It helps lower blood pressure and also can help with anxiety. So it may be a good idea for you.
Your mind can play tricks on you, telling you to worry about things that are not dangerous. First ascertain objectively if your blood pressure is actually a real issue, or one of these phantom issues. If it's a phantom, don't obey it. Don't get blood pressure tests: confront the phantom and say 'no, this is not real'.
If you are coming in with high BP tests, cut out fats, go for gentle walks, perhaps take up swimming.
Don't take blood pressure lowering medication unless recommended by your doctor. If your blood pressure is elevated, it's elevated because it's trying to pump blood. You need to know why it is elevated, and address that. :)
last time I went for a check it was a nurse who got me all riled up--telling me they lost a test result and btw the dr wants all these extra tests---I won't see her again!
sounds like your doc wants yours to stay high--that is a lot of pressure to put you under--pretty much guarantees a high bp---I'd say-1st-you are in the driver's seat--don't agree to anything until you've had a chance to monitor yourself out of the office for a week--just see if and when it goes high---if it is always normal at home, then it is just the "white coat" thing. If it is still high even at home when you are relaxed--then that is an issue.
I would say to meditate each day, do yoga, and excercise--before your next appt take a nice hot bath and belly breathe to relax.
I checked it at walmart twice today and it was lower both times. The second time it was almost normal. I still have some anxiety over checking it so I'm still feeling a little anxious over it.
Once we got my blood pressure down, and I have "white coat" blood pressure elevation, we were able to work through the other issues.
I take medication for high blood pressure, anxiety, depression, and am working through therapy to lose weight with gentle exercise.
Learning the effect of anxiety was a real eye-opener, and giving it a real work-out through movement has been great in relieving the symptoms fast naturally.
Best wishes.
