After 3 years of distance, I have finally decided to move to be closer to my boyfriend (of 5 years) and extended family. BUT my parents are super over protective, and my dad is a control freak. He feels like anything in my or my sister's life is happening to him, and this causes him to freak out on us. I am VERY happy about this move, which I might add I will not be making for at least 6 months, but I'm freaking out about how to tell my dad. Last time I moved my dad forced himself into it. He just started taking the boxes and driving them to the new place before the moving company came.
Any suggestions about how to lay daddy down easy about the move?

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Best wishes. Some things we just have to face head on, with our courage, bravery, and determination that we can do it, no matter what.
If you have a fairly good relationship with him, telling him you love him and you care about his opinion but you need to strike out on your own and you'll be back for visits, it's the best way to show that you can handle yourself.
One of the signs of maturity is living your own life exactly as you want to live it and handling any consequences that come up. Your dad sounds like he cares a lot and wants to be sure you're okay. If you can leave things with him in such a way that he knows you care about him but you're going to live your life, it leaves the door open for a future relationship.
But realize you have every right to live your life any way you want.
