Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

I'm curious about others experiences with anxiety medication. What medication(s) do you take for your general anxiety or panic attacks? Do they work well for you? My anxiety is extra severe lately and I feel trapped in my body, sometimes my mind just takes over and all my coping skills and healthy behaviors I learned over the years don't work. Usually when I'm suffering like this, I talk to my doctor about medication. Right now I take hydroxyzine, which doesn't do much. I've taken klonopin and ativan in the past for long periods of time and got addicted to those types of meds, which is unfourtunate. Lately, the "vibe" of my anxiety is paranoia, its pretty awful.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

I also take magnesium, have for many years, it doesn't do anything for me.
@Nikki - a higher priced magnesium is not necessary, in case you want to save on cost. Any kind will do. If you feel a difference, that's great!!! I never noticed anything from all the years of magnesium and all the different brands, etc. I think everyone is different.
Sometimes we just need to take something to stop the panic attack and ease the anxiety. Talk to your doctor about it. See what they think you should do. Maybe seek out a therapist? For some non-medicine relief,
Hope you feel better soon.
Also use a stick figure to see where the physical sensations are happening.
Best wishes.
