Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

I'm feeling Corona Crowned lately. The advent of 2021 as the first year of The New Normal has me feeling so low that I need a ladder to see the other side of a dime. This morning's meditation read from "Meditations for People Who Worry" reminded me how much I miss planning on something deeper than masked encounters at proper social distances. Thought I'd share it here, just to see if I am missing ways to plan within this new world order.

Planning/Letting Go
I think of worry as creative planning. ~Bev
Good! That's good! Creative planning, you say. There is only one small problem -- letting go.
I have consulted with many individuals and organizations on creative planning. The two essential keys to effective planning are to be able to put your best creative thinking into the planning with full awareness that the plans may never be realized and to be able to let go of the outcome with fll knowledge that you can't control the outcome, anyway.
Remember, the real value in the planing may be that in the process itself, new information emerges that may help the individual or the organization move in a new direction.
The major difference between worry and creative planning is the willingness to let go.
When I am holding on to the outcome, I am into control, not creativity.
End quote.
Just sharing. Back to my proper social distance.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
My own worry and conclusions was that each new idea - each bold step outside of a 'usual and known' creates
some anxiousness..but then it becomes familiar and in context after a while...after a while of communication with others
and practice...It was a calming thought.
I woke up so grateful this morning - for feeling my own sense of place - and flawedness about myself (sorry don't mean to bogart)
but in part that sense of flawed and yet sense of community - and that flawedness that is in all of us made me - inspired me in this way.
I hope you have a good week ahead! Sending prayers for a good week!!
I believe I am on year 3 of this particular meditation reader. It is chock full of high-fiber chews to start my day.
Worrying is an interesting thing. Sure there can be benefits... the creative planning as it were. But, like the meditation says, the bulk of what we worry about is not going to happen. Something my IOP therapist would focus on was, "is this effective?" It's the sort of rubber meets the road question, much like the meditation asking "what if this thing that I'm worrying about never happens?"
Thanks for the thought. Hope you have a peaceful day(s)
It makes sense to me.
Here's to finding the balance of thinking and creativity.
