Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I've been in sn anxious state for about a month now. But had my first full blown panic attack in a while a couple hours ago. Geeeez...they don't really get easier even though you've had them before. I've suffered with GAD and PD for over 20 years off and on and well...it sucks. I managed to pull out of it with some mindfulness but this one called for an emergency as needed medication. It is quite depressing to feel as though you've taken one step forward and two steps back. I'm now in the freeze/avoidance place and I know I will find my way to the other side eventually but it's hard to accept float and let time pass. I'm a 43 year old male and if anyone would like to chat at any point please pm me. I like to help and god knows I've got some experience. Talking helps me. Take care everyone.
P.S.
I usually don't have any obvious triggers but looking back on this particular evening I did eat a decent amount of food and sugar right before I layed down. Bad idea...triggered full attack pounding fast heart rate, elevated bp dizziness confusion shortness of breath. All the classics...has anyone experienced diet being a primary contributor? I have a doctors appointment this week and I'm going to request a full blood panel (again) just to check for thyroid, anemia or perhaps even diabetes.

I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
