Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Life is hard at the moment. There are unavoidable social anxieties which reduce my resilience combined with living with someone who's natural behaviour is toxic.
I really don't want to exist right now and I can't see a positive end, even when trying to keep up socially with friends online.
I feel invaluable and worthless, added by the way my brother talks to me when I inconvenience him. I mistakenly opened up my frustration to my mum again which I regret as she immediately came to my brother's aid, defending his choice of words and treatment of me and labelling it as 'you need to have more empathy' I don't want it to effect me but it makes me feel even more worthless knowing that my supposed 'mother's' first instinct is to remind me that I am being unreasonable for being upset.
I have so much to do today and I can't because I'm uncontrollably crying and my face is starting to tingle signalling a panic attack. I have no one close by me to help, I feel so alone.
on top of that I am confused regarding the relationship between me and a friend, I get the impression that they want a relationship with me but they don't communicate where they stand as a friend which causes me anxiety relating to the fear that I want to move on but they will dissapear if I do, logically if they do that it can't be helped but it adds to my anxiety at the moment.
I'm sorry if my problems seem really petty and easily resolvable but I'm really struggling and I don't know what to do, I feel that theres no one I can call who would confidently be there for me.
I just don't know why I'm here right now

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
I've been bombarded with messages telling me I shouldn't have left to visit them but It was a matter of my mental health.
Thinking about it now I likely shouldn't have come but it's too late as I'm already there.
I just feel so tired and drained and can't speak to any of them right now especially with the reminder that I have inconvenienced my grandparents.
It sounds like you're in the UK? I don't know what the lockdown rules are, but are you able to go out and take walks? Sit in a park, or your garden, or anything? Just going somewhere outside of your flat where you can sit and enjoy some calm and stillness? Being able to go outside and look at the birds and see something other than the inside of my house has been a life-saver for me.
Keep reaching out. Sending you peace and tranquility.
I’ve had panic attacks where everything gets tingly and I feel like I’ve left my body. It does eventually pass but I had to practice sort of riding it out. It’s hard at first because it’s terrifying. For me once I could identify what was happening it made it easier to recover.
Sorry you are struggling right now.
Yay you for bringing those problems here to sort. None of us have threads tangled into your strictly personal amalgamation and it is far easier for us to validate your confusions without the need to defend our strictly personal threads.
Continued support while you sort. Listening. . .
And thank you for the opportunity to use the word, "amalgamation." I find it an especially useful word in understanding my own psycho snot knots, but most people look at me like I have 3 heads when I use the word aloud.
And no you don't have to explain yourself to anybody.
You are in control. You can say and do as you want.
Don't ever feel bad. That's why we are all here to help you get through your feelings. Your problems aren't petty at all. So do keep writing. We all want to help.
Sounds like your experiencing panic attacks. Those can be scary. But they will pass. Just try to do some deep breathing. Hope you feel better. You take good care. Italianmomma4ever
Maybe what you need right now is someone who is unconditionally supportive and good energy for you.
I am sorry things are so bad with your brother and your mom! It is so sad that you suffer greatly because of how relationships are with family members so close to you! I'm sorry that your feel worthless and about your panic attacks! Living with anxiety is not easy. I wish that your mother was more supportive and understanding. Are you able to meet with a therapist? It is important that you have someone who validates your feelings and gives you guidance and support. You are an important human being and you are very valuable. I don't think that you are inconveniencing your grandparents. It may seem that way, but I believe that being a part of your life is a blessing for them. Sometimes, just having you around can be a source of joy for them. You could tell them that you are grateful you have them in your life. Walking outside every day can help a lot with a lot of things. It is good for us physically, mentally and emotionally. I am glad you are sharing here! You are important and precious! I wish you many blessings.
Rmb regarding telling others where I am etc. I guess its a combination of care and also due to currently being involved with my family more than I should be due to living with my brother (that combined with Corona Virus rules etc). I guess the telling of family members comes from a combination of keeping safe but also the unhealthy lack of boundaries of needing to know as much as possible so they can "help."
I am back now at my brother's place but this time I am going into the environment knowing what it is like with preparations on how to keep myself mentally safe in a mentally dangerous environment.
In a figurative way I am making sure not to reach out my hand to those who have verbal blades hidden between their fingers who still blame me for falling down in the first place, I have another thought I am interested to discuss with everyone though I think it will be a separate post.
From my personal experience, I have certain people I know I can count on and certain people I know mean well but because of history or too much inter-connectedness, I tend to not share or expect to receive what I need from them. Most often those people are family. Doesn’t make my family mean or unkind. I like them and love them and they love me and we all want the best for each other. We talk and hang out although not so much these days due to COVID and what not, but they’re just not always equipped to give what I think I need when I’m going through certain things. So I avoid a lot of frustration sometimes by just not emotionally involving them. Or being very selective about what I involve them in. That’s why I asked, wondering if it’s something that just compounds things for you. But I get it can be hard to not reach out when you just want some freakin’ support!
I wish I could truthfully say that I love my parents and my brother but right now, with everything that has happened in the past two months as well as before that, I don't feel like a do. I hope this changes but right now I just can't. On top of that I feel that I am only loved conditionally based on the person they want me to be at this moment /: rather than loving me for 'me' depression and all.
I'll see how things go and maybe my thoughts will change in the future.
