Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Hi Guys,
Just went through a little rough moment and want to write out my thoughts again. As I explained before I've been getting anxious in the car and it's been causing me to get car sick/ feeling nauseous.
I havent felt sick driving around the past week which is good. But just a little bit ago my mom asked me to go to the store with her. I was feeling fine when she asked. But as soon as I got into the car I felt so sick. I couldn't even stand to be in the store because of the smells and me feeling so anxious I'm going to get sick away from home.
I felt like such a brat for walking out and waiting in the car; but I just couldn't stay in there.
Idk if you guys feel this way about your anxiety disorders (however they present) but I feel so ridiculous and hopeless. Like how the simplest of things can be so challenging for us. It really brings me down.
Things I'm going to try this week to help:
1.Contact my therapist about this (it's been too long since I've seen her).
2. Make a regular doctors appointment to see if this is maybe a problem she can help with.
3.Trying to not have caffeine or dairy in my diet.
Hope everyone is having a good start to the week tho! Thinking of you all!

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Yea, "Ridiculous" and "Hopeless" is among the words I could use to describe the feeling, but beating myself up doesn't calm me down as fast as breathing exercise and being gentle with myself while I recover. Compost happens.
It also helps to write it out and share within my therapy support network, kinda like you just did with this post. Keep us posted, Sunny. You are not alone. Be gentle with yourself and patient with the process.
Thanks for writing out your thoughts and sharing them with us here. Anxiety can make normal everyday tasks feel much harder, as you know. And the thing about anxiety is that even if we know logically that we are safe, that we don't need to worry, etc, the anxiety still rears it's ugly head.
All this can definitely lead to feeling hopeless - I feel that way sometimes too. However, I believe there is a part of you that has hope and believes things can get better, and that is the part of you taking action steps to figure out what you can do to help yourself. I applaud you for that and really admire that you took the time to reflect and then make a plan for moving forward. There is certainly hope, and I have a lot of hope for you. What helps me sometimes too is believing that my struggle is here for a reason, and that it is making me into a stronger individual. And I believe it is doing the same for you.
Be kind to yourself. You got this.
as for feeling ridiculous--I don't much anymore---I have some friends who are very cool and supportive with my quirks. we all have something we can't deal with-so we all just accept and help each other when we can. everyone has some kind of issue!!
So glad you are setting goals for the week! I did the BounceBack Program last year and it taught me about short/long term goals, and I find short term goals throughout the week really help, like speaking with your therapist, make appointments, etc.
I understand how you are feeling. You tried and even made it inside and you should be proud of yourself!
One thing that helps me is to challenge my “what ifs”. Your main “what if” seems to be getting sick in public. I’m assuming you mean vomiting? Has that ever happened before? Does it happen frequently? If those answers are “no” maybe you can try and reassure yourself that the nausea is just a feeling from being anxious and it will pass.
If the worst case scenario occurred and you did vomit, what would happen then? What is the worst part about that? Sometimes if I go through those questions to myself it makes the situation I’m afraid of seem less scary.
Next time, you can try to do a little more.
Keep on moving forward.
Every little bit makes a positive difference.
