Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Looking for just about anything to help with no sleep and anxiety randomly causing attacks more than usual.
A friend got me a diffuser with about 20 different oils. I did the sleep concoction last night and slept bad as usual. I have been listening to YouTube sleep anxiety loops but that's not too helpful either.
Does it work immediately or do I need to do it for days/weeks to see if it helps?
I have some stress away oil, calm oil and lavender that I'm dousing myself with while having anxiety while working...
Ugh.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

"don't be a hate hole" has been one of my recent mantras which seems to be escaping my mouth more and more often. it emerges when i am faced with the endless list of chores i would rather not deal with. insurance. head lice. bureaucracy. in-laws. the list goes on and on and on and on, ad infinitum.reality checks requested. am i making sense?"ever'thin they is but loving leaves a rust on your...

You are like me in that you are avoiding medication as much as possible which is a good thing if you can do it. I love to try natural treatments. I've tried the oils but they did not work for me.
I have 2 things that I go to for sleep and they work pretty good. One is ZzzQuil which is just liquid antihistamine and as Mid pointed out the other day, there is also an alcohol-free version.
I also use Melatonin by Natrol sometimes. It is the only brand I could find without toxic levels of vitamin B6 in it. I bought the 10 mg which is prob higher than I'd really need but I quarter the tablets. I got the most bang for my buck that way!
Just a few non-prescription suggestions in case the oils don't help you.
Good luck and sweet dreams!
I have heard that lavender oil is very relaxing and can help you sleep. Otherwise I too have heard of Melatonin. I too suffer from broken sleep every night. Well here's to better sleeping!!!!
Melatonin and the main ingredient in most over the counter sleep aids have the total opposite effect on me.
I doused myself all night long with the lavender and no help.
Just don't know if it either works or it doesn't. This kit cost my friend a ton of $$ and was hoping it's not a waste.
I take Halcion at night. I get about 3 hours. I then am up for a bit and take Xanax. Then I get another hour or 2 broken.
I'm doing an in home sleep study next week
One of the things I try to do is stay awake. It worked enough to allow me to fall asleep.
Hope you find what works to help your brain say 'rest'.
to sleep I use the biotropic parasympathetic nervous system one for 30 mins and then I have deep sleep healing relaxing whatever that I like the sound of.
I also use a natural sleep aid called somnapure -has all the good stuff in it including melatonin.
I did do some tapping on youtube for sleep and yes--that may take you several tries before you feel the effectiveness of it.
also--get off of computer at least an hr before bed--don't watch anything stimulating--maybe read poetry...or do a meditation.
You could also try a form of EMDR. Start with going to bed and think about your anxiety, close your eyes and rapidly move your eyes from side to side for thirty seconds trying not to think about anything once your anxiety disappears. Do the eye movements up to 3 times. Deep breaths from your lower belly also is a natural way to relax and calms the flight or fight instinct which causes anxiety.
I hope you can sleep. Best Wishes.
