Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

I recently tied up with a mute autistic child (7?) who taps compulsively. Tapping along with him feels a bit like unlocking a primal language. It's too soon to be sure, but methinks we are in danger of understanding one another.
A friend told me that their dance instructor put on a pair of tap shoes to an individual that was 'mute', and the dance that individual did through tapping was 'out of this world'.
Sometimes, our world does not help those who see, think, hear, smell, or feel different be able to express themselves 'as is'.
I think your rhythm has healing taps within, and that you're helping this mute individual find their way into the world.
Best wishes! You rock, and you're a star with tapping!
Awareness and permission to treat ^it^ like a good thing opened doors I still have no words to describe. "Emotional Freedom Tapping" could easily be my own words for the randomly acquired acronym.
I love the description. It fits! Thank you for sharing! I think you've helped a lot of people today.
For me, I tap and when someone complains, I say would you rather say something ... they usually walk away (or more like slink away).
The aim apparently, is to retrain the amygdala. You bring up the feelings, the anxiety about an issue. You tap in succession while then giving yourself permission to let that go, forgive yourself, whatever. The science believes, the tapping brakes up the loop to your amydala and the stimulus. The woo woo believes you free stuck energy. I'm not sure where I fall on that, honestly not sure it matters. What I've found is I drop into my autonomic nervous system. Something I've never been able to do well.
Now like everything it's been commodized, there is prosperity tapping now, whatever... I'll leave that to y'all to judge
For sure, with kids, I mostly drop the words and match their rhythms and tones when the complaining starts. I'm bigger than them.
The Tapping app made me think of the many I have known who use metronomes to set their meditation rhythm. Several also use them as sleep aids. Of course there's an app for that. . .
Personally, I have yet to respond well to live guided meditation. My discomforts there have dissuaded me from even trying the recorded meditations I can do the motions of guided meditation for the spirit of certain events, but I gotta go with my own flow for maximum benefit.
Yea, my Iphone autocorrect bites my proverbial backhind at least as often as it saves it. The autocorrect gets especially colorful when I am texting in other languages.
You seem to be describing the "Emotionally Focused Therapy" which was the most popular candidate when I searched, "EFT" It has allot of technical components that remind me allot of other therapies I never quite got the hang of and don't remember the names of. Reflexology?
