Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Good morning. I had a really bad weekend and I'm still upset. I've been dealing with my crazy Aunt since 1995 when I took her daughter out for the day. Even though my cousin and I formed a special bond, I have regretted that day, especially in the last year and a few months. I used to take my Aunt on errands and her mouth would start running before she even got in my car. She is depressing, annoying, paranoid, a liar and more. She is totally disabled now. Last year between her and others, I had a nervous breakdown. I told her daughter that I couldn't help her mother anymore because she was driving me crazy. Lately, her anxiety and paranoia are through the roof. On Thursday her phone wouldn't charge. She insinuated that her home health worked snuck and used the new charger I got the week before. I was pissed. I told her to call her son. He does nothing for her. On Friday she heard that a cell phone company went out of business so I called Tracfone and spoke with someone who determined that she should get a free replacement phone which would take 3 to 5 days to come in. She wasn't happy about that at all and begged me to get her another phone, which she can't afford. I have my own issues and could not bring myself to help her. I avoided her calls. She lives in a secure building and uses her phone to let people in but if you wait a few minutes, someone will let you in during the day. So I feel bad but I can't keep being her Savior. She has most likely alienated people with her stories. Just venting mostly. My friends are tired of me talking about her. Thanks!

i'm glad to hear you are taking care of you in this equation. nobody ever saved a drowning victim by drowning with them. steadying support while you tend your own needs.
for what it's worth
when i have to listen to the mentally ill people in my life, it helps me keep my mouth shut if i visualize them ranting through the bars of an asylum window. arguing with a psychosis only throws gas on the fire. sometimes they even run out of rant when allowed to rant freely.
