About Me
As life went on, friendships changed, and now I find myself all alone, I'm an active older woman, and have one daughter. I was born & raised in New York City, but I love the country too. I'm pretty active & young at heart, I have lots of interests. I would love to make some new friends, would always have room for a new friend!

What did mental health clinic do I found helpful? I called, hysterical crying,I was out of work, couldn't get act together had a big medical issue & had a baby. Took me in right away, comforted me, guided me, gave me anti-depressants & helped me get a job -

Oh it's gonna be horrible here and probably in your area too on Saturday, 'noreaster is coming starting Friday night into Saturday. Ugh. Hope we're not all holed up hope you can get out too. I do have stuff to do at home though. -

Yeah I know when weather gets bad I'll wish I was working from home. My daughter works hybrid, 3 days in office, 2 days @ home, says that's perfect. Can't have everything though. I'm just thrilled about the 3 days a week, it's so hard to find! -

I liked working from home, I didn't have to get up as early since I didn't have to drive to work & that I can roll out of bed and work. What I didn't like was that I live alone and it was too isolating, took me a while to realize it made me very lonely. -

I've been on that LIRR Tour to Southampton a few times! They stopped those tours, they were wonderful, I wish they'd bring them back. There's a commercial on TV for "I Love New York" it features a gorgeous beach called Cooper Beach-that's in Southampton. -

I see the high holidays are making you think about your life, I'm glad it's helping a little. I do hope you move forward, change can be a good thing. At least you know how to enjoy your time off, you make the best of your time off. -

Anxiety-I used to have it really bad. In 2011 I couldn't even hold a job & was a single mom w/a baby!! A friend told me to contact the free mental health clinic near me, I called them crying, and they helped me so much, they were invaluable. -

A LOT of religious institutions are suffering. We now have a lot of Muslim temples in Queens. I went to a catholic church a few years ago and accidentally walked into a Sunday school classroom. There were only THREE students! They shut that class down. -

Hi Linda, it's gotten really cold here suddenly! Low of only 52 degrees tonight, brrrr....Anyhow yes I went back to work today, Wedns Thurs & Fri. Then I got a lot more organizing & cleaning to do this coming weekend. Storm is coming Friday night! -

I had a friend once who told me she was terrified of change (finding another job). To her, it was "Fear of the Unknown"..... Whereas I like change, it breaks up a boring routine & then I meet new people. She was SO scared, I remember that. -

My daughter came over last night then went to her friend's house to break the fast. No, I didn't go, I don't know her friend's family, but I know she goes every year. I'm sure she pigged out!! -

Tell me about anxiety--I used to over-think things TOO much, over and over in my head. My counselor told me to do something, and I saw someone on DS wrote about it too-whenever it happens say OUTLOUD to yourself "STOP"--it worked for me. -

You're right, and the few temples here that are left are struggeling too. Some of them merged into one temple & is still struggeling. It's sad, I remember when I first moved here there were many more temples. -

It's been VERY quiet here w/the Jewish Holidays. Hardly any traffic anywhere I went, no place was crowded. Sometimes I don't realize how many Jewish people there are. The temples here diminished though over the years demographics changed.
