About Me
As life went on, friendships changed, and now I find myself all alone, I'm an active older woman, and have one daughter. I was born & raised in New York City, but I love the country too. I'm pretty active & young at heart, I have lots of interests. I would love to make some new friends, would always have room for a new friend!

My sister is cooking @ her house for thanksgiving. She just asked me to make veggies, so I brought Asparagus. It's not an exciting day, it will just be 3 of us, we don't have a big family (in a way, thank goodness, I can barely put up w/my sisters!) -

Great you finally got to go inside the Tavern & eat there too! It looked so quaint and pretty! I loved the venus fly traps, it sure did remind me of the Little Shop of Horrors, & those Halloween decorations were amazing! -

YES!!! That one time I took a trip alone to Chicago, I had more fun that I would have if someone else was with me. I did so much touring, and I'd get back to the hotel @ 8pm, exhausted!! It's great to go at YOUR OWN pace, go where you want to go. -

hummm....One day I'll have to try Amtrack. I'm sure it's a good ride. You went so many places, that's great, and nothing stops you either. A lot of people won't travel alone, you do. I only did once when I went to Chicago & I had fun ALONE. -

Looked @ the site, "Rumspringa", never heard of it but I'm glad the Amish let the teens decide if they want to stay Amish. I wonder how many of them do? At least they have a choice. I'm sure it's a healthier way of life. -

We all need a "green fix" a/k/a country. It sucks being brought up in a big city like I did. I never went swimming, bicycling, nothing like that as a kid, I did it as an adult. Never see country in a big city. THAT I regret being bought up like that. -

Do you take Amtrack a lot on your trips? I've never taken it, a few times I looked at prices and they were pretty steep. Almost as much as an airline flight, but I'm sure it's nicer to travel by rail. I hear it passes beautiful areas. -

I was on a tour years ago of the Amish country when someone on the tour said that, I guess he just couldn't believe that the Amish REALLY live that way, that some people prefer to live differently. In a way, it's nice not to have computers & all. -

If there's lots of Country in VA, then I would love it!! I've always lived in a big city, I was even born & raised in Manhattan in apartments, never really felt grass under my feet when I was young. To me, the country is breath of fresh air! -

I went to Amish Country years ago. People were telling the those Amish people are "all an act". But I heard they really are like that. And it's weird how one side of the street is their old fashioned territory and the other side is a modern city. -

Oh yeah I love my sleep! That's the worse part of work is getting up so early! 4 days off will be great, and I have no big plans, but I'm sure I'll come up w/something, will see how the weather holds out too. Maybe i'll go into Manhattan, see what's new. -

OH I LOVE THAT "VA is for lovers, but PA has Intercourse". Hysterical, i'd want that too, so funny!!! I haven't really been to VA, is it pretty like PA? Like more country-ish? I used to go to the Poconos a lot. I heard Virginia Beach is nice.
