So, lately I wake up in total dread and distress. Like a knot in my stomach over something I dreamed about. Now I know we can control our thoughts during the day, while we're awake. But when we're sleepin its not so easy. I don't really remember the nightmares, or dreams I have, but it leaves an emotional imprint for when I wake up. My stomach gets all queasy and tight. My hands shake and I keep thinking that maybe just maybe I can get through today if I smoke enough. And somehow it doesn't really help. This has only happen the last two or three mornings.
Does anyone else have a daydreaming problem? Like just get on a thought and get stuck there for awhile. I have this issue where I will be letting my mind wander and then all of a sudden I'm stuck on a thought and my partner is trying to talk to me, but I'm so stuck I can't respond for a few seconds. It's frustrating because I will be in the middle of working on something and my mind will just wander off. No notice or whatever, just toodle loo, there it goes. I think I'm gonna have to put a chain on the door or something. Oh well, just another day in paradise.

A dream journal was part of my ticket out of that vicious loop. I kept a pen and paper next to my bed so that I could record my dreams before I even got out of bed. When I couldn't remember the details of the dream, I would record the emotions I woke with in as much detail as possible. The dream journal offered allot of clues of what to work on in my therapy sessions.
But that is me. . .
