Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

As I've been waiting to get a psyciatrist in the new few weeks because of the anxiety attack I had at my last job recently, I am being told that Ive been 'laying on my ass' all day. In reality, the majority of the time I am too scared to step out the door. Everything gives me anxiety, and my loved ones don't understand me... I can't get a job at the condition I'm in right now. I'm SO SCARED of life. People scare me, I can't even see my friends anymore or even talk to them. I try to explain to them, even in tears how severe my anxiety has gotten, and they just tell me to get over it and get a damn job.... It doesn't work that way for anybody who has severe anxiety like I do.
I'm at this point where I just want to drop them for good and even isolate myself more then I already am. I know they do this cause they care, they just don't UNDERSTAND what I'm struggling with every day. I plan to just NOT care about what they say at this point, get the treatment I need, even if it means waiting a couple weeks to get the appointment... Ignore them till I'm at a better mindset. I can't change the way they think, I don't need this in my life right now.
I feel so rushed right now.

I got an email from Kohl's that I had a 40% off coupon for today and tomorrow only. It took me about an hour but I placed an order and got some great deals. I have been wanting a new dress. I like dressing up sometimes. My birthday is coming up and I have dinner plans at a nice restaurant. But, honestly, I'm a little out of control again. I went through this in the fall. I bought...

Has anyone else noticed that clearly speaking and doing things intentionally is liberating because it helps combat the feeling of depression and a sense of hopelessness? Let me share a little more: in my experience, when those who have tried to project a hidden agenda that is obviously not aligned with integrity and well-being, it's best to be firm and speak clearly from self-awareness and...

Even the thought about doing some very part time volunteer work brings on a panic attack.
I think you need to take your time and work with your doctor and councillor untill bit by bit you gain back your confidence in the world around you before you work again, i understand the fear in the world you have, i am the same way. maybe you could get your family to read these replys or buy them a book on anxiety or even have them go with you to doctors and councillors oppts so they can gain more insight into what you are going through. you are not alone and you didn,t ask for anxiety. you a stronger than the adveridge joe you have to be just to get through the day, dont forget that!. Hugs.
It'll get better. You probably need to talk to your doctor about it and start anti anxiety meds. Klonopin worked for me.
I tell myself to be patient and take baby steps. Right now, i am waiting at home till i get that appointment with my doctor, its all i can do. They hate me for sitting at home every day, but what else can i do when i'm feeling like this? :/
Thank you for sharing, It really does help to know their are people out there who understand me.
Second, take a deep breath. There is no need to rush.
Third, try to reframe what "job" means. It may mean going into an office 40 hours a week but it can also mean doing something from home or easing into something you enjoy - moving from very part time to more or less full time - or whatever you feel you can handle.
But - when you're ready.
Finally, there are plenty of people who get your anxiety. Find them. When I was surrounded by people who told me to "get over it" or "get on with it" it made me so much more anxious. Now I work with and have friends that either have dealt with anxiety or have another issue so they get the limitations.
I had a talk with a co-worker today that was so wonderful. We were talking about what each of us would do and he said, "Choose only the things you're comfortable with" - all three of us working with this company have anxiety but we each have anxiety about different things. So we accommodate each other's needs. It's fantastic.
In my personal life, I have a lot of people who are really terrific about my anxiety and get it. When I tell them about something, they ask - "Are you feeling okay about it or can I do something to help." And it's heaven. It makes all the difference in the world.
That said, I sent a note to my sister today asking for a bit of support and she wouldn't even text me back. Sometimes those who are closest to us just don't get us. But there are ALWAYS others who are amazingly kind.
I am absolutely certain there are people in your area who can provide a safe and understanding place.
