Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I don't understand why so many people can't get beyond this step. We talked about it again at another meeting last night.
I guess it's because it is so hard to put your faith and trust into something you can't see or feel but I think it's like everything else in life, it just takes practices.
Your thoughts please.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

i am stuck on three... i guess i need to give it up more
but then again i am a control freak, but trying to change

#16 . Even though I am 6 years removed from my first rehab, I still have times when I go back to being controlling also. It is human nature, I think and it's something I have to continually work at.
Thanks!
I loved 'I can't, he can, so let him' for the first 3 steps. Then, as others have said, my work began.
How glad I am today that I became willing to do the work :)
Bear, that sounds like someone who didn't take one step at a time :)
I always try not to think too far ahead. Somebody once told me that 95% of the things we worry about never happen and the other 5%...we can't do anything about.
God Bless!
Its about doing nothing
Instead of wading in and doing what I think I'm supposed to do
And sometimes
Its about doing what's been put in front of me
Instead of sitting back and doing nothing
Anything more complicated than that, I'm in danger of wishful thinking!
There will be an answer, Let it Be ;)
