Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I'm going out tonight for my good friend's 30th birthday. It's only been a couple days since I decided to quit drinking and I probably should skip the party but I don't want to disappoint my friend. It's a BYOB so I figured if I don't bring anything I won't drink. Only problem is that they want to go to the bar after the party. I'm really going to try tonight. I promised my dad that I wouldn't drink. I'm going to try to keep that promise. I'm just afraid that I'm going to break that promise..

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

I remember driving to my first meeting, parked my car and sat there in the parking lot until the meeting was over. Then I went home and told my wife, I went to the AA meeting.. What I didn't say was that I never got out of my car! After doing the same, 3 more times, I finally worked up the courage to go inside. It was the best decision I ever made. Everyone made me feel welcomed and I loved how everyone cheered when I walked up to get my first chip at the end of the meeting!
So don't punish yourself! It's not a sin to be fearful. Just keep trying!
God Bless
