Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), also known as acute myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. Patients with AML usually present with symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, infection, prompting medical attention. An abnormal blood test reading will then result in further testing in a hospital with a hematologist to determine AML.
My brother's transplant is Friday. Just wondering how typical it is for someone to get two days of chemo and three of radiation prior to transplant. We thought he would be nauseous today but he wasn't. Is this a good sign, bad sign or neither?
This is a very frightening place. He did not get into remission with one round of treatments and has been on a clinical trial to target the flt3 factor.

He is getting cantankerous so that is probably a good sign!
Please God keep things moving in the right direction.

Thank you so much. I know you are facing this road soon. Prayers that all go well for your son. He is so young. Hopefully that will be something in his favor. Young and strong!
Just three years ago we were celebrating my son graduating from Med School and it is so heart breaking to see him going through this, if I could take it for him I would.
I am so happy things are looking up for your brother and I pray that he continues to improve and can soon be home.

Brothers numbers crept up a bit more. WBC now .7 and ANC 225. The mucositis continue to haunt him. Mouth is so sore. Hopefully this will begin to mend soon

His numbers are coming up and he should start feeling better soon.
