No temp. Still mouth sores but less puffy today. Hopefully the next few days will be climb up time. We are at +10. Tired but sitting up and doing some bike time.

That is progress in the right direction, Twilight! Praying for improved counts.

Fighting mucositis --got blood and platelets today. We have been assured this is not abnormal but still heartbreaking.
Praying by next weekend, life will be looking up ---We are at +12

Hi Twilight,

Engraftment should occur soon, followed by increased white blood count and ANC. Just a few more days of this horrid mucocitis. UGH!! My husband was so miserable! But once the WBC comes up, it gets better FAST, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it happens ASAP.

Actually I am beginning to worry. He is two weeks and a day from BMT and his numbers are not rising yet. Dr said things are on course but he is struggling with mouth and throat issues. Low grade fever of 99 earlier today.
Does everyone's numbers come back?
Is there any correlation between success and the donors age?
I am sick with worry
I am full of questions

How is he doing today? Tony always popped a low grade temp if 99ish right before counts recovered, hopefully that's what's going on with your brother and he's headed in the right direction!
Don't think I've heard of success related to donors she- usually just the best possible match. And if I recall, it's your sister, a sibling is very very strong!
Stay positive, I know it's hard. Even though the actual transplant is behind us, I still struggle severely w worry on a daily basis

I pray that your brother is doing better and that his counts are starting to recover. I agree with Lea I have always heard that the sibling transplants are the best ones for success.

Remember it's always the darkest before dawn. Be Strong and keep faith that he will recover. He is in my prayers.

Honestly today I want to scream.

Today the WBC is still only .2 and now the bilirubin number is going up. On top of this my best friend is dying of brain cancer. I want to climb into a cave and scream. I M so scared right now. Whilst I am thrilled for Tony, I can't read your thread because our journey.ssems so different and rough right now. All my 89 year old mom does is pray and worry.
I HATE THIS DISEASE!!! And I am angry

you have the right to scream, all of it just isn't fair, I have had my sister in law, and my two best friends die of cancer in the last few years. your brothers numbers will rise and it will get better. sometimes the ones that have it the worst end up with the best results. Praying for you and your brother and your best friend.
