About Me
I'm a 59-year-old female. I'm married to an ER doc and have 6 children. After college I worked at nursing a couple of years. I started having kids and then became a full time mom. Suffice it to say I worked hard. I loved running, shopping, tennis, mountain hikes, skiing, singing, taking care of my kids. I loved being a mom. In August of 1998 my life changed drastically. I got sick with what seemed like the flu: low-grade fever, aches, weakness. We had just moved. I tried to keep pushing myself unpacking. One day I got so weak and shaky I couldn't use a screw driver to put stuff in the wall. A few days later I thought I was better. I tried running and couldn't finish a mile. I completely collapsed in bed. Every time I tried to do anything I ended up in bed with such profound fatigue I couldn't get up. Fast forward. After several months of not being able to function, my husband (who was my doctor too, because we lived in a very small town) diagnosed me with CFS. I've had it for almost 22 years.
