  The upcoming days may prove to be very trying. Tomorrow, my wife and I have our scheduled marriage counseling. I have hurt her deeply and I sense she has lost close to all trust in me.   Told a lie to my father in law yesterday re: Easter plans. There was really no need to and it compulsively came out of my mouth. I was not proud of myself as I'm really trying to be truthful. I need to remeber that 30 plus years of faulty operating is not undone in 2 days. After, I did something for the first time. I texted him and let him know I lied and apologized.   My wife has told me she wants a divorce. I'm really sruggling. I understand her decision and if I was in her shoes I may be making the same decision. The question she keeps asking which I wish I had an answer for was "What else have you lied to me about or what don't I know?"   24 hours without a lie. I can't honestly say the last time that has happened. I'll be picking up the pieces for a while, but today was a win. I always said I wanted to stop lying but never put in consistent work. I lied to my therapists, psychiatrists, friends and family. After the latest round of damage, I've decided I've hit my bottom and want to finally commit my whole ass. No more half assing.

  Hey everyone. I'm a lifelong liar.  I'm about to be 38 years old and have lied most of my life. In my early years, it was to escape punishment from my parents or to try to fit in. Later, I became addicted to drugs and alcohol for a better part of a decade. My lying increased to feed my addiction. I was able to get clean and remain clean, the lying improved somewhat.
