McCaine's running mate, a gov from Alaska? a WOMAN? what do you all think about this?? tell me your opinion's please! let's hear it all!
personally i was rooting for Mit Romney, so i'm not all that stoked. but McCaine is still better choice than Obama. no matter what McCaine did or does i don't think he could ever get as low as Obama. sorry obama fans, this is just my personal opinion. please don't take this as an attack, i'm just not up for voting for someone that wants to raise taxes for everything especially since he plans to make it the biggest tax hike since WWII. anyway, so those of you who have been following this political competition, McCaine picked this woman to compete with Hillary fans. i'd like to hear what everyone has to say about this.
I am also Canadian. I follow American Politics though because ultimately our countries leaders do affect bordering countries. You just need to look back at Free Trade to agree with that one.. and Oh a very contrivertial subject. Legalization of Marijuana ;) I don't have an opinion on this election yet though.
Alias, i didn't notice the change in outfit or her boobs. which is strange cuz i do normally take notice to those kind of things. but i guess not this time. oh well...
here in Hawaii it is illegal to smoke cigarettes anywhere with in 30 ft of a building / public place. but this state is such a pot head state. honestly i hate weed. i hate the way it's smells, it makes me sick to the stomach. everyone here smokes it like a cigarette and to be honest i'm pretty sick of smelling it!! if it were like any other place i been where they smoke it just a lil here and a lil there, i wouldn't really care if it were legalized or not. but since i smell it ALL THE DAMN TIME i'm sick of it!!!! God forbid if it gets legalized!! then those designated smoking areas in public will be filled with all pot smoking people!! then i would have to put up with smelling it even more!!!! if i had to vote on it, it's definitely a NO.
I am going off on my own here..I don't think it will really make a difference who wins. Do not forget politicians lie , we have seen it before (ex. I did not have sexual relations with that woman... etc) and the list goes on and on. Even Hillary who was dissing Obama saying he is basically "all talk" was then supporting him now. People say the things they think will make them win, but for anyone to believe that newly elected president will really make a drastic change is really setting themselves up for disappointment.
i hate this topic too, everyone has there opinion and ian't going to change anyone elses, i wish i hadn't responded but to late. i wish her and her family well.
Palin has turned her state around. Gave half a billion BACK to the people. As far as Mccain choosing her because it has anything to do with hillary.. I do not think so. i think McCain choosing a woman was an absolute amazing choice! of course it is to get liberals, and women voters... Barrack is "Actually half black and white" although he won't admit it. But guess who the most voters will be for him? The black voters.
I will not vote for a candidate who cannot be honest about his race. Sorry that is my opinion. not only that Palin has more experience then biden and barrack together. what has barrack obama passed while being in office? This country is at it's most crucial time ever as in need of the right president. I just say "Please" vote with Clarity and Pray. i wil vote for whoever has the experience. Ohh i could go on but ... these things get my aniety goin lol
Last week two women knocked on my front door. When I answered it, one of the women said "Why, hello? Are you a registered voter? "Yes", I said, hesitantly, thinking in the back of my mind, "What is it you want?" Then she said, "I always feel awkward asking this question, but do you mind telling me how you are going to vote?". "Yes", I replied somewhat emphatically, "I would. One of our greatest rights is a secret vote." "Oh, she said, all flustered. "Well, then do you know about Proposition 8?". Yep. Said I. (It's a proposition on the ballot banning same sex marriages). "Oh, well, then you don't mind if we leave you a couple of pamphlets?" I glanced at the ones in her hands...something about sin and abomination (which always tends to irk me, anyway).. "Yes, I do", I said. " But, you have a wonderful day and I'll see you at the polls" and quietly shut the door.
I have come to really understand why our Founding Fathers made our votes secret.......so that no one could harm you, retaliate or ostracize you in any way for voting your choices. Unfortunately, I am learning it is not the same in most political discussions these days. It is nearly impossible to debate the real issues, smoke screens are set up to avoid that and it ends up bashing the candidates on personalities, race, sex, religion, or how "hot" or "good looking" they are, etc. etc.......like that is really going to be important should this country ever be under attack or how they part their hair is going to have anything to do with attempting to improve our economy.
And if your views don't happen to coincide with theirs, the name calling, mud slinging, bullying and maliciousness starts.
I am old enough to remember when debates were actually a good thing and were civil. I miss them. So, I have decided to pretty much keep my mouth shut, do as I always have - check out the candidate's stance, experience, and voting records on issues and go from there.
And...... I think Cheerios may have a very valid point.
jamsnjaz I am glad you stood your ground on the right to have your vote secret. The lady at the door was obviously there to sway you to one party. I don't take the phone calls either.
I am yet disgusted with Obama again. I saw him on a news interview and he said Palin is even more like Bush blah blah than McCain. I am no expert on politics but I try to keep up on them some as this is my Country. But all I have read about Palin is her and McCain don't agree on everything and one of the reasons he picked her is because he thought she would as VP make his choices more rounded out. Yes Palin has actually done more than Obama as far as policies.
I think debates are what they use to be. It just depends on who you debate with. Some don't debate so you can see another perspective but do it to get you riled up. Those are the ones I avoid. I have learnt things here from the responses I haven't though about. Politics isn't my favorite sugject but as and American I like to keep somewhat up on who is controling our Country.
Does anyone else worry about if Obama becomes President he may get assassinated? I have thought this and a few of my friends have voiced their concern as well. I truly hope it doesn't, esp for the sake of his wife and daughters. I just fear that if he does become President we will have another Kennedy situation on our hands. I would hate to have that happen. What do you think?
I am also worried about him being assassinated. There are alot of predjudice sick people in this world. i hope it doesn't prevent anyone for voting for him though, he knows that there is a possibility of that happening and still wants to serve as president. If anything did happen to him at least his vice president is experienced and qualified to take over.
I'M SURE THERE IS AN ELEMENT OF CONCERN HERE, FOR ANYONE WHO TAKES ON THIS POSITION ... COMES WITH THE JOB DECRIPTION ... SOME PEOPLE ARE VERY DISTURBED, AND VIOLENCE IS THEIR ONLY RECOURSE .. BUT, LET ME THROW THIS ONE OUT THERE ... MY OBJECTION TO OBAMA IS THAT HE IS MUSLIM, AND RIGHT NOW THE MUSLIMS ARE OUT TO DESTROY US .. WE WERE ATTACKED BY THE MUSLIMS, NOW ONE WILL BE OUR PRESIDENT ??? HERES ANOTHER THOUGHT .. IN REVELATIONS THE LORD STATES THAT THE ANTI-CHRIST WILL PORTRAY HIMSELF TO BE A RELIGIOUS LEADER, AND THAT HE WILL BE OF MIDDLE EASTERN DECENT ... SHOULD I SAY ANYMORE ????
Everyone has a right to their opinion here is mine Obama has stated that he is not a muslim he also has said quite a few times that he is a christiaan and excepts Jesus Christ as his savior. As far as the book of revelations saying the anti-christ will portray himself to be a religious leader, obama has never portrayed himself as any kind of Religious leader only a political one.
how would you know if someone would want to assassinate him that it would be about race (he is half white half black anyway)? what if it is because of of his past muslim schooling? his half sister Maya is from Indonesia which is where i grew up. the reason why i went to a private christian school there is because all the other schools are ISLAMIC militarized schools. and from my experience, growing up in THE MOST MUSLIM country in the world, and Obama went to those schools, i would never trust a man like him. even if he claims he is now christian. i just don't trust it. i just thought i would bring this point up that the controversy across the country about him may not have anything to do with his race, but religion. especially with what our nation has been goin thru since 9/11. i'm nervous about him becoming pres because when the Pentagon was hit i was stationed in the area and had to go up there that night. i was helping them pull out the charred stuff and bring in the new stuff over the next year or so. let me tell you the smell of burned bodies is THE WORST smell on earth!! yuck! i wanted to vomit every time and the smell of the burned bodies and jet fuel wouldn't ever come out of my clothes!! i can't bare to see our nation ever go thru something like that again! 9/11 was horrible! who ever becomes pres HAS TO protect us from that ever happening again!
but getting back to the point, yes i heard about what Palin has done for Alaska and saving them so much money that they had a surplus. and most of all what she did with that surplus, she gave it back to the people. i think since our country's economy is so fragile right now, Palin is our best bet to save the economy.
