I was talking with a few on the chat and we thought it would nice to have a mini get together in IA. We were discussing maybe in september some time. Does anyone feel like they could make it. Catherine17 was going to check on hotels in the area. I believe Dubuque IA.
OR I would love to host a get together in Minnesota. Any suggestions are more than welcome.
I will be there as well.
I did not make the trip to Vegas but my late wife and I had some great times in Dubuque (I can hear the native Iowans laughing). It is a nice town with a lot of cool things to do in the area besides gaming (and fighting over Stan). Seeing how far some are driving to experience Iowa, I would be remiss if I did not make the short trip to the Key City. I am really looking forward to this.

Relax Lu Ann, you can't get excited in your state !!!.......It is only 850 miles and we have days to get there if needed. If we drove from here it would be just over 3000 miles so we are taking a shortcut....LOL
Just goes to show what I will do for family !!! I have been on road trips by myself that were thousands of miles and always made it back in one piece....no need to worry......unless you go into labor....but I am good at hollering so can summon help if needed...........can't wait ................just 55 more sleeps to Iowa !!!!
WOW................I just looked CLOSER at some maps and it IS going to take DAYS to get there.........Did YOU see how many CASINO'S are ALONG THE WAY !!!!!
Cathy and Brenda...I'M IN and you know what/ I talked to a special friend and have it on authority that HE IS TOO!!! LuAnn...DONT MENTION THE NAME FLAT...YOU KNOW WHO...I'M TRYING TO BE THE BIGGER PERSON and and forgive...but forget the sounds? OH THOSE SOUNDS late in the night......OH the agony!!! And the ENVY! I can't get those SOUNDS outta my head! The sounds of cardboard BENDING AND CRACKLING! Is he even walking anymore!?!?!?!? Stop...i don't wanna KNOW!!!!!!!! ;-)
Wow am I out of the loop or what? Have been so busy working and traveling and preparing for a garage sale, and moving out of a storage unit and getting ready to market my home I didn't even know this existed!! All the talk about the gathering sounded so exciting to me. I checked map qest and it is 30 hrs. or 2000 miles for me. Don't think I will be making that drive. I can't tell you how much I would love to be coming to this. I would so enjoy spending more time and further cementing the friendships made in Vegas! Need to try and plan something for the Pacific NW area? I know you all will have a blast!
I am in LeClaire, Iowa let me know how I can help. Also we have 3 hotels, several restaurants and "The American Pickers" right here in LeClaire!
Cathy & Brenda...Please count my head. I'm IN. LuAnn, I decided I could drive the 801 miles if you and Shirley were going to make the trip. I'll have company in Kansas City, and if anyone else needs a ride from KC, let me know. Moonflyer - you persuasive thing you..excited to meet your friend.
I've read this entire thread again, and is it true...gaming in Dubuque? and picking (woohoo)? Is the Redstone Inn the place to be? Looks like a nice place. Will they have enough rooms for all of us?
Can't wait to see you all again, and meet new friends!!
Cathy (the other Cathy)
There may have to be a change in venue if we get more people. The Redstone has 15 rooms, but they have one bed in the rooms, so unless you REALLY like your friends....... :)
