Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I do not think there is anything else wrong with you. Grieving is hard on the Spirit, soul and body. All we can do is keep moving forward in the strength that our good Lord gives us daily. I pray you have better days filled with not only your good memories but with much peace and joy.
I keep reminding myself, God is good he loves me and is close to me as I walk through this valley of grief for it is only in his great strength I can do this. It will just take as long as it takes.
God Bless and hugs,
Helen
Things are different ,for sure, but as Heartaches2 said God gives us the grace and strength to make it through, one day at a time. You were so blessed to have a husband who loved you so much...and I don't believe there's anything wrong with you still be weepy over your loss. It just reaffirms your great love.
I miss Mike too, and am looking ahead to the day when we will be together again- in God's time- since I still have my assignment to complete here. Be blessed today and know that HE has you in HIS arms...hugs...Jill
I have hope for the future and if ever again someone special would cross my path I hope to be open to loving again. We each chose to be open or not. I do not feel that it is disrespectful to my husband's memory or the love we shared. For me, life is enhanced when shared.
I feel your pain in, I know it, I have those dark days when I miss him so much I can taste him. Wishing you a brighter week.

I hope in the next months that I will be better at the coping skills, and be able to have those good days I hear about. Have a feeling though that I will always miss him, and always think of the memories we shared, no matter what day it is.
the occasion days are the worst! hope for all of us for better tomorrows. Diane
As far as the meds? Forget it.
Just listening to you all so far, it makes me feel better that what I am going through is normal. And I can also relate to I'm so strong and I look so good. Crawl inside me for 5 minutes - you'll change that opinion.
No one can ever understand what losing a loved one does to you.
I'm just adding my two cents because I can relate as well. Sunday will be the 15-month anniversary of my wife's passing. I know I've made some progress, but the sense of loss can be overwhelming at times. Special days and holidays are especially rough. And only a couple of very special long-time friends are comfortable listening when I try to put hard-to-express feelings into words. My wife and I were very close. Anyone running into me when I was by myself would know Arlene was nearby or else I was running an errand on my way home from work.
Your past postings suggest you handle things as well as can be expected most of the time. I wish you the strength and support you need to get through days like this.
My best,
Jeff
In this way he is with me, his wonderful spirit and what I learned from him is with me, always.
My one niece asked if I should return to the counselor or if I believed it had been too soon to stop the antidepressants. I said no to both questions. What is the counselor going to tell me that I don't already know, and as far as the pills, I was tired of swallowing them. The less junk I have in my system the better.
It's hard to accept that what you once where you no longer are which is a couple. I feel like a weirdo in a couple's world, which is why I mostly surround myself with unattached women anymore.
Thankfully DS is returning to the safe haven it is intended to be. At least I hope so anyway.
