I, too, have no intention of removing my wedding rings, though I am happy others have different opinions. My husband died 4 weeks ago tomorrow so I know I am new to this situation and may change my mind over time, even though I don't think so. However, I did find a beautiful ring that has two heart-shaped stones leaning toward each other...one red, for me in the body, and one white, for him in spirit. This is my Christmas present to myself this year. I had our names engraved inside. I will wear this ring on my right hand as a symbol of our changed status but unchanged love for each other. Our hearts are forever entwined and I am excited to wear a sign of that on my finger.

My husband had lost his wedding ring , but i still had mine. I placed Mine on his pinky finger as he left for his journey to heaven, telling him he better be waiting for me at the gate. I have a Mothers ring and a gold necklace, he purchased both for me. They mean more to me now than ever. My sons are having me a gold pendant made in remembrance of him to put on my gold chain. Its a Xmas surprise. I cant wait to get it.

At 7 1/2 months, I still wear my engagement and wedding band and wear his wedding band on a gold chain (that was once his---until I "adopted it"). I purchased another wedding band for him to be buried in. I regret that I didn't have time to have it engraved.

I wear Jerry's wedding ring, and my grandmothers ring both on the middle finger of my right hand. Jerry wore his wedding ring, and the only time he took it off (even squishing chopped meat), was when he was initiated into the Masons - don't know why, but he mentioned this. My diamond ring was moving around because I lost a lot of weight when Jerry died. I went into the jewler and was going to have it sized, and started crying so hard when I took it off that the clerk actually got scared. I hardly ever took it off (could boil the ring and make soup I think). Right there and then, I decided to make it into a necklace - very plain diamond that I wear everyday. I am passing it down, and it was already in my will because it was his mother's ring. I still touch my finger in sort of a phantom touch to turn it around. So sad.

At about a year I moved my engagement ring to my right hand, but still wear the wedding band on my left now about 14 months after. It just seems "too much" to wear them together on the left anymore.

I am nearly three yearas out and have tried going without them, and then put them back on. When I broke my arm this summer I took them off until the cast came off.
After I had been widowed nearly a year I had been wearing his anyway so I had it resized and joined to mine (they were custom designed by us so they fit together well) and I still wear them. And do not plan to remove them any time soon, although I suppose even that is subject to charnge.... everything else has :-)

I still wear mine off and on and its been over 2 years. Can't see myself with anyone else. I am 56 and that may make a difference.

I wonder if it makes a difference how long one was married. I met my husband when we were both in our 40s, and we were married for only 5 years because of his untimely death. It will soon be 4 months since I lost him, and I have already found myself wanting to remove my wedding ring as it symbolizes a bond to someone who is dead, not living and loving. I have not taken it off in part because I don't want to upset our daughter, who's only a toddler but knows what the ring means, and in part because I'm not willing yet to give up the identity I had as a wife. I hated being single and was so proud to finally have a wedding ring. It's hard to accept that I have to go back to single status now.

I took my ring off on the last week of my husbands life.....it upset me so much to see it when I knew I was losing him :(

About a month after he died tho' I felt empty without it......so now it is back and will stay that way........at least that is how I feel now :) I guess we all go thro' so many emotions......Never Say Never :)
