DJC, I feel the same. I read the posts and can see and hear the same emotions I feel, the stories of our spouses are so relatable in so many ways. Hell, for all I know they’re all up they’re arranging for all of us to come to this site. I actually just happened upon it while trying to find local group meetings. So glad I did. I would rather discuss my feelings this way than in a room full of people. I’ve never been that type anyway.

I am a newbie here.

But this has been a warming source of people so far. Writing things is easier sometimes. Speaking the words is almost impossible.

I am supposed to be working right now.....I can barely function. And I have like 22 people that report to me either directly or indirectly. Ugh.

That’s why I took the week off. I just needed it so bad. Sometimes you’re not good to anyone if you’re suffering yourself. My employees didn’t need to see me with uncontrollable emotions. They look to me for guidance on the job, how can I guide if I’m lost and have no drive to so my job. Sometimes you just need a break. Hang in there.

Yep, It's the club nobody wants to join. I'm glad DS is here. It's been 6 months and I don't know where I'd be if I hadn't found this safe space to just let it out. Take care all.

I had never belonged to an online forum before this one, and stumbled upon it after googling for support for widows. It's ironic because Cliff was the one who lived his life online, not me, but here I wound up. You may be right that they may be directing us here from 'up there'.....

It is true that we share a bond with each other. The fact is, to understand the pain of losing your husband or your wife, you have to have experienced this loss. As we well know, we wouldn't wish this pain on anyone. However, it is so comforting to be able to log in, day or night, and know that you are not alone and that someone else knows how you feel. It has been eight years for me, and I still visit this site. I don't comment often since time has helped with the raw emotions in the early years, but I still feel the pain of the loss. I am grateful that this site exists and am glad for those who find it to be a help. It sure has been for me. Roxanne

Sadly we had to experience the loss of a spouse in order to really understand this journey. I'm sure that none of us wanted to be a member of this group but I'll be forever grateful to have found it and joined it nine years ago. In recent years I may not comment often even though I still check in from time to time. I don't think the pain of the loss ever totally goes away. You just learn to live with it. I'm also glad this site still exists becuase it provides at least a little light in the dark. Hugs to ALL of you. Donnamarie

I am also thankful that this forum exists. I was not directed to it, but stumbled on it in my desperate search for help after losing my wife two and a half years ago. I don't comment as often as some, but have always found encouragement and comfort when I read through the posts.

It is an unfortunate meeting place that lives up to its title by providing daily strength. I am blessed to make the connection.

I work at a school. We just got back from Christmas break.People keep asking how the break was. Not good. Husband has been gone two Christmases now. I wish people wouldnt ask..::

I definitely agree with your post.

My friend suggested this forum for me a couple of weeks after my husband passed away in 2008. I may not comment much, however I do read the posts and especially find writing in my journal to be helpful.
As someone else said, it's the club that nobody wants to be part of, but I am grateful that I am not alone as I feel like I relate emotionally to all of you...
