I lost my husband in an accident 19 months ago and I miss him so much! Here lately I have experienced feelings of wanting to be hugged or even kissed by someone of the opposite sex. But then I feel like I am being unfaithful to my husband. I am not dating - I feel like I am too old for that (64) but sometimes I just cry myself to sleep missing the hugs and kisses I received for over 40 years. Is this normal or am I going crazy?

I'm sorry. I'm going to hell for bringing this thread up. I think it's time that they have someone to install a central cooling system there.

Your happy that I'm likely too old to not live alone?

Stop Nebulizing the thread Rick.

I disagree. Widowers outnumber widows by quite a high percentage. You could find a nice widow who understands your pain. She will never be Glenda but your heart will expand and she will be a whole different love. Our hearts do expand...like when we love our first child and can't imagine loving a second as much but BOOM our hearts expand and we do find that equal love. With the way you have interacted on this site I would bet the under/over of you finding a new love would be a bet I would take Mr. Rick51. Definitely not now. Not maybe not even soon..but eventually. Definitely eventually.

Thx Deb.

OMG Rain...stop. I'm done sobbing. Your thread was fine I got to cry about my lack of sex and intimacy so woo hoo for that.

I cry with you if I could. I can't promise I could outcry Debbie Downer though.

I don't know if anyone could out cry me. I actually have a friend (husband's friend but mine also) who wrote for Saturday Night Live, possibly during the Debbie Downer days (my daughter's Godfather) so that is scary...maybe I really am Debbie Downer LOL.

So my husband has (had eww, hate the past tense) a bazillion friends and many of them check in on me. I just texted our friend who is a director and wrote for SNL...was I Debbie Downer? I don't think so ..I think I would have known. But would be funny if I was.

Okay, I have a story. About 35 yrs ago before the kids we were on the ocean in our boat. We both seemed have the urge at the same time, and decided to go into the birth and get busy. Next thing we know there are shouts and rapping on the side of the boat. The coast guard wanted to know why no one appeared on board, and were kind enough not to ask why the boat was rocking on a perfectly flat sea.

There are so many things I miss about my husband right now.....but most of all I think I miss his smell. I go through the closet and smell his shirt he wore to his last chemo treatment. He also has a Denver Bronco beenie cap that he wore a lot....I sleep with that sometimes just to help me get to sleep. I'm having a hard time sleeping these days.
