Yesterday I finally did something I had been dreading for far too long. I did our 2014 taxes. My husband was so severely ill at tax time and passed the 23rd of April so I filed an extension. It was due the 15th. I worked on them all day long. Midway through I had to take a break, the thought that he will never sign anything again just hit me like a ton of bricks. Yep, it brought on the water works. At nearly six months I still find it so hard to believe that he is gone after 40 years together. But, it is what it is. So I was a day late getting them mailed off. And I really don't care. What's the worse thing that could happen? Oh, yeah, it already did. He died! I still have so many hurdles to get through, but this is another thing I can cross off that stinking list of shit to do. What a load off. I miss him constantly and will always love him. But I will make it, I have to! Hugs and Love to all, Michele

Now when I need to do a task related to the business, something that would take 30 minutes seems to drag on for weeks. I fully understand the procrastination of it.
On the flip side, I finally got his filing mostly organized. That needed to be done for nearly 2 years! I had hoped that he would do it, but never got around to it.
All these little things that people complain about doing in their lives. It's come to make me realize that I should appreciate being able to do them. And once the finalization of having to them passes, I hope I can appreciate doing the, for myself. In the mean time, the heartache of doing things like filing his taxes for the last time, I expect will bring a lot of tears.
Good to know we're not in this alone,
Sheila
P.S. I am getting a refund from both Fed and State. Go figure!
